There’s More Cities
After a quick spin I reappeared in my world…I think. This place was all rocky and jagged. Yeah it had the same blue sky but it felt…different. Wait, how did we Reff inside the house? We weren’t outside. Or was it something our parents told us so we wouldn’t go inside the houses by ourselves? Well, whatever. We did it and escaped the human.
“Where’s Lisa?” Mots was worried, but I wasn’t.
Lisa appeared next to me. “The human is ugly!” I think she appears when someone calls her name. Such a dog. “He had this big nose with green things inside of it. I think he sniffs Buffles and likes it when they get stuck. His skin was all shiny and his eyes were like the sky. I don’t want to die!”
“Lisa!” I slapped her. What? At a time like this, you can do that. The fact that I wanted to hit her had nothing to do with it. Well maybe a little.
“Oh…” Good thing I slapped her ‘cause she snapped out of it. “Sorry about that.” I’m not. Lisa started gazing at our new surroundings. “Where…are we?”
“Mots?” I turned to my side. He was heading off on his own.
“I feel like I know this place.” Of course Mots spoke to himself but I heard what he said. Dragging Terry with me I headed for Mots. Lisa followed afterwards. She was still shivering a little. Was it from me slapping her or from being in a new place? Hmm. “Yup. I knew it.” Turns out Mots was standing near a ledge. When I neared him I saw what it was.
Down below was a good sized town. But it wasn’t familiar to me. Sure it had the same structure of mud and stick buildings, but it was…different somehow. It was like the city was bigger and things were in different places. For a second I thought I saw a fountain. Actually, a fountain would be really cool to have in the city. Buffles could sit around it and talk about…well, whatever. I know I could just sit there and play with the water. Splash. Right now I’m softly tapping my bulbs together while thinking of the water. But how will it work? If it was made out of mud and sticks, wouldn’t it fall apart? Maybe they could use stone.
“Is that another city?” The sound of Lisa’s voice was enough to snap me back to reality.
“It is. This is one of the small branches that sprouted from our town.” I think Mots knows more than what he shows. I guess it comes natural for being the son of the mayor.
“I didn’t know there were other cities.” Honestly I didn’t. I heard about travelers but I just thought they were rouge Buffles. Looks like there’s a new town to explore.
“There’s actually several other cities around ours.” Now you tell us. If we knew sooner we could’ve explored them and not feel like tourists. “I know about them because my dad took me on some of his trips. This town is good. It’s not very far from home so we should be there in no time.” Good ‘cause I don’t want to walk too much.
“Humm-dra-ah.” Terry started to come back to life. Poor girl, she’s too gentle to be put through this kind of stuff. Guess she should’ve stayed home. “Guys?”
“Good you’re awake.” I happily stood her up only to have her lean on me.
“Where are we?” Terry was still a bit woozy. I wanted her to hurry up and get better so she could get off me.
“At least your awake now. You should thank Sephi for carrying you.” Mots looked at me with a faint smile. Of course I was grinning to myself since I demanded a ‘thank you’ in return. “We’re in a nearby town that’s close to home. We should be home in about an hour.” What? Really? An hour? I don’t want to be walking for more than ten minutes. “If we hurry we can catch some of those riding carts before they close.” Mots patted her head. “That way you won’t have to worry about falling.” At last, a good idea.
