Thump, thump, thump.

You woke up and looked around, groaning ever so softly. Your head immediately began to pound, only adding to the thumping of what seemed to be multiple people walking far too hard down the stairs. You sat up and looked at your phone.

1:45 am.

Jesus. Why was it so early?  You thought to yourself as you slowly stood, being cautious to your head, which increasingly throbbed as your head reached higher altitude.

Did I really drink that much? You thought to yourself. You were only 17, the youngest in your group, which made the fact that you might have out-partied Josh & Chris a tad worse.

You reluctantly opened the door and heard the conversation below the stairs. Walking down the stairs, you were greeted with the sounds of Emily and Mike.

"Mike is my man." You heard Emily say, a smirk in her voice.

"I'm not just anyone's man." Mike said calmly.

"Hey! (y/n)! You have got to get in on this!" You heard a voice call, rather loud for your taste at the moment. Your vision, blurry but adjusting to the dimly lit atmosphere, focused on none other than Ashley. Ash was one of your best friends in the group, next to Sam & the twins. The twins were basically your sisters.

"Get in on wha...?" You questioned, your words slightly slurred.

Matt chuckled, "someone got a bit smashed last night!"

You crossed your arms and frowned.
"He's got a point, (y/n)." You heard mike say as he walked to you, putting his arm around you. Mike was your closest friend in the group. He had been there for you through everything since you two had become friends. He loved you to death and would do anything to protect you. "So, you in on this prank or no?" Mike questioned.

"Prank?" The idea appalled you at the moment, being freshly tipsy. Hell, you were drunk, but you didn't want to admit it to yourself. "No, thanks. If you couldn't tell, I'm a bit tipsy off my ass right now." You giggled softly.

Mike shrugged and released you, then walked up the stairs, followed by Matt, Emily, Jess, and Ashley. You took it upon yourself to go to the kitchen, letting out a sigh of relief when you see Beth there, looking out the window.

You walk to the cabinet to retrieve some aspirin, "So, Beth. How bad was I?"

She let out a small laugh, "not as bad as Josh and Chris."

You raised your eyebrow at her and she motioned to the bar where two boys sat, their heads on the table, passed out. You couldn't help but laugh as you poured yourself a glass of water and put two pills into your mouth. You took a drink of water and swallowed the pills, the cold water soothing your burning throat.

"Dad said it would just be us this weekend..." Beth commented while looking out the window.

"What do you mean?" You asked, quizzically.

"I saw something outside." She said quickly.

You shrugged, "probably a deer."

She nodded slightly and stared out the window for a few seconds, then turned to the counter where the boys, Josh and Chris, were unconscious. Beth lightly shook Josh's shoulders and giggled, "you have outdone us all, brother." She let him go and smiled, walking to a piece of paper laying on the counter. She picked it up and read it. After a few seconds she said, "oh no... What did our naive sister get herself into?"

You looked at her, "what does it say?"

"Hannah. You look so damn hot in that shirt, but I bet you're even hotter out of it. Come to the guest room at two a.m. Mike." Her face filled with concern with every word. Suddenly, her gaze averted to the window. "Oh, my god. I just saw Hannah." Without another word, she walked through the doors and to the living room. Reluctantly, you followed close behind. Too hungover to run, you walked to the door where all of your friends had already gathered.

"You jerks!" Beth said and ran off into the woods.

"So, should we go after her?" Mike asked.

"I think you're the last person she wants to see right now, mike." Sam said, crossing her arms.

You pushed your way through your friends to the front, "was this that dumb prank you guys pulled? Seriously?!" Yelling wasn't exactly the best thing you could do for your head, but right then, you didn't care.

"(Y/N) listen.." Mike started, but you cut him off.

"No! You listen! You guys are assholes!" You said and started to walk away, only to have your hand grabbed by mike.

"No. Don't go out there, it's dangerous!" He protested.

"But you're going to let Beth go? That's flawed logic," you snatched your hand back and took off into the woods. You quickly realized that you weren't wearing even close to the proper attire to handle the snow. Fuzzy boot slippers, shorts, and a hoodie was not going to protect you from negative twenty degree weather. You walked along the trail, shouting the twins' names. You then came to a set of footprints. Deciding to follow them, you took off running. Not realizing how treacherous the terrain was, you completely missed a drop in the ground. You tripped over it, falling down the steep hill, hitting your head on the way down.

Your body didn't even make it down the hill before everything went black.
