Dramione (Draco and Hermione)

It all began in my third year. She was the brightest witch at Hogwarts. Kind of ironic, isn’t it, the brightest witch is the one who comes from nothing. Anyways, it was with the punch that I began to realize my feelings for her. I knew immediately that if I ever acted on them I would likely be stoned by my family but that didn’t stop me from fantasizing about her. The year passed by and I steered clear of her not knowing if I could control myself. I finally got away for the summer. I wrote many love letters that I immediately burned for fear that someone would find them. And then the new school year began. I was so excited to hear about the Yule Ball. I was finally going to see my love dressed up. I kept working up the courage to ask her. Until I heard that Krum had beaten me. I wanted to kill him whenever I saw him. The year ended but the Dark Lord was back. My summer vacation was filled with plans to take over the Ministry. I knew the instant Potter came back from the graveyard that I would never be able to profess my love for the Gryffindor Princess.

Hermione was surprised when Ron kissed her during the Battle of Hogwarts. It was then that she realized she didn't love him. She knew that her feelings had changed. During their hiding she noticed her mind wandering towards Draco. When they arrived at the school and she saw that he was alive she felt happy for the first time in months. She thought then that the reason was because the end was nearing. But when Ron kissed her she knew where her heart lay. However, she also knew that she could never be with him. Even though they had fought for a world where they could, they really couldn't. She realized how foolish she had been to expect a better world immediately, it would take time. And there would always be the wizards who would refuse. That was the first and only time in her adult life that she felt stupid.

Hermione hated Draco with a passion. He was an arrogant, concieted, son of a bitch. Ever since she met him on the train she knew that she would hate him. All of that changed after the war. The Malfoys came out with a press conference apologizing for their part in the war. Hermione was one of the first people to accept the apology. Everyone thought she was crazy, even Ron wouldn't talk to her. She still doesn't know why she did it, watching him across the platform while he talked to his son. She wasn't sure if she would ever know. But for once in her life, she was fine with not knowing.
