I was locked in a cage by the world.
For they could not accept the monster that I am.
They acted bold and strong on the outside.
Trying to kill me and hunt me down.
Though, on the inside they shook with fear, but they never let it show.
They pretended to rejoice when I was strong.
They claimed it would make more of a fight, but in reality they soon will be gone.
They tried to bind me and summon me away where the Demons reside.
But nothing could contain what I held inside.
It wasn't my pride, but a monster created not by man, but harbored by them.
Humans are pathetic in this way.
They claim they aren't mad when they create their own demise, but in reality they are.
Monsters just don't appear or come-to-be.
The true creators of monsters are the humans themselves.
They create the monsters that torment them at night and hide in shadows.
Still, they say that these monsters came from Hell.
Sure they might be true, but it is a human's own fear that truly creates it.
I can say this because it is the humans that created me.
They willingly did the experiments and rejoiced in success.
But in the end, they were overcome by fear and I turned in to a monster.
Fear overcame them faster than they could blink.
It only took them a little while to think that they could defeat me.
Of course monsters created by a man's fear can be destroyed, but I was created by a madness.
A madness that had consumed this planet slowly over time.
It was seen as a friend by the humans and they fully accepted insanity.
They used it and followed its command without question.
From this, they created me.
Naming me project "Genesis", they claimed to be starting the rise of a new generation.
Instead they created the destroyer of their current generation and those never to come.
They hunted me to the point where I gave myself up.
They so-called "repented" of their choice "sins" while they kept other sins alive.
They sacrificed me as they thought fit, but even that wouldn't end it.
For even if the morrow is barren of promises, nothing shall forestall my return.
[if you didn't know, Gackt (who voices Genesis in Japanese) has a song called Returner] :)
