I am warm now. After being engulfed by a mountain of snow for hours, you seem to forget how warm you can be. The doctor walked into the room and says, "I'm going to do a few simple tests to make sure you have regained feeling." He pinched my leg and I flinched. "Good, good." He says as he marks down a check on his clipboard. "Wiggle your toes for me please", he says. I wiggle them as he says. He praises me for doing well and walks back out of the room.
Someone knocks on the door and I look over. "Lunch" the voice says. I tell the voice to come in and a woman in a nurses outfit with short gray hair enters. She wheels the cart with my lunch over to the side of my bed and slides it out in front of me. It was a typical hospital meal. A ham sandwich, an apple, and a Pepsi. I grab the TV remote, turn on the local news, and eat my lunch.
