I am currently in a room with the most flawless woman I have ever seen in my life, who just so happens to be from a planet where everyone wants to be. This could be a dream, but it doesn't seem like anything bad is about to happen. And I'm not asleep. Although I do feel rather warm inside, as if I were snuggled up under my flannel covers. Wait, is that normal?
"Are you seriously from Earth?" I say dumb-struck.
"Yes, and I'm going to tell you all about it." Miss Robertson replies happily.
Beautiful teacher lady is all I'm focused on at the moment. Her shiny white teeth are blindingly bright as she beams at the class. She opens her flaming crimson lips to speak, and begins.
"Earth is a planet much larger and much farther away from your planet. You probably already knew that, so I'm not going to bore you all to death with some facts about the size and population and distance from the sun. To be honest, I actually don't know the answer to any of those, and I also I want to tell you about life on Earth, and what it is like to be from there."
The class slides onto the edge of their seats. This is going to be good.
"Here is a day living as an Earthling. We wake up, eat, go to school or our job, eat, go home, eat, and go to sleep. That is just the tip of the iceberg however. We also have our freedom as well. The freedom to travel the entire world, the freedom to buy things whenever we want, the freedom have fun. The Earth is an amazing place to live on, and I'm so happy to be from there. Any questions at all?"
The entire class shoots one collective hand up into the air, including myself.
"Yes?" She points at me, expecting me to ask something.
"Well I was just wondering, what sort of things can you do in your spare time on Earth?" I ask.
"Anything! You can drive around in your cars, you can go to public parks and play there, you can meet up with your friends and have fun with them... You name it, you can do it."
"Wow!" I reply, truly fascinated and interested with Earth, "but why did you leave Earth?"
"I was waiting for someone to ask that." she says, smiling at me, "I haven't necessarily "left Earth". I am just visiting another planet you could say. In fact, I'm leaving for Earth tomorrow, and I have an idea to make your knowledge of my beautiful planet even better. I think that I should take you all with me."
The class gasps, as if gasping is their favourite thing in the world to do.
"Call it a field trip across the universe. We'll leave tomorrow, stay for one day, come back, and you'll have only missed one day. The best part is, Mr. Spandelloni doesn't have to know a thing."
It's like an explosion fills the room. Everyone in the classroom jumps out of their seats and cheers like they just won the lottery. I can't believe it. We're actually going to visit Earth.
Time to check that off the bucket list.
"Settle down!" Miss Robertson shouts in a delighted voice, "I am going to dismiss class right now, so you can all go home and get ready for your long journey. Hopefully your teachers won't mind at all." She winks at us. "Class dismissed!"
After she said that we all grabbed our bags and bolted out of the room. We are going to another planet! Almost no one gets to do that, ever! I can go and visit Times Square, and the Statue of Liberty in New York City, just like in the dream I had last night. Even if what I'm about to say is a bit corny, it is the best way of describing how I feel right now.
This is a dream come true.
