Chapter 1
Meet Kate, she is a wild 15 year old in her junior year with a big brain and even bigger heart. Kate was always happy and how to optimise viwe of things. but lately things are changing. school dance is coming up soon and Kate is left date or so she thinks.
"The dance is a week and a day away." Monica side at kate mad as possible. Because Kate out going around her friends but shy around everyone out and mostly boys. " I don't like dances" kate says. " I didn't care you're going to get you a dress" Monica says mad at her.
The next day is Saturday 1 week before the Big Dance.Bang Bang Bang Monica is knocking on the door fiercely. kate wakes up its 8 am." what the heck are you doing here this early" Kate with her face Anger. " He need to get up sleepy head we're going dresse shopping" Monica says. "WHAT!" Kate says.
An hour later they are at the dress shop. Kate cleared the lump in her throat she hates dresses so what's new and scary experience for her she thinks. Monica make her try on 17 different dresses befor she picks one. As she tries on dresses she realizes store owners son is helping her. It is Mark from her 3th priode class. She has a crash on him since the 9th grade. But she has never talk to him till today.
He turned see her trying on the last dress. It is a simple light blue with a ruffled look to the bottom. She smiles and says thank you trying to hide her red face as he walks away to help his mom put up the dresses. " I am going with this one" kate says to Monica. Monica says OK we got it.Befor Leaving the dress shop Monica put a white mask on the counter kate looks at her with a what is this for. "The Dances masquerade theme"Monica says.Kate lookes at her with confused face.
