H A R P E R
'Please Raven,' I whined tugging on her shirt's hem. Raven was sitting on the couch, her one leg over the other and a book in her hand, I know better than to interrupt her when she's reading but I can't because I am craving cinnamon buns from my favourite baker. Raven sighed and closed the book looking down at me, at the moment I was sitting on my knees with my hands in a praying position and my puppy dog eyes out with a small pout. Raven is uncrackable, but she gets these days where she gives in and thankfully today is one of those days.
'Okay, just go get Judy and I'll drive,' she said placing her book on the coffee table before grabbing her keys and walking to the door. She took her coat of the hanger and looked at me expectedly before I jumped up and ran to Judy's room. I stay with my two best friends, Raven Nelson and Judy Summers, we've been together since I moved to London a few years ago and we go to the same university. My parents had gotten us the apartment that we're staying in for a Christmas present since they didn't know what to buy me because I wouldn't tell them what I wanted.
But this apartment is beautiful, not only does it have a view, it's huge! We're at the top floor, which I'm not to fond about since I am terrified of heights, and we own the floor below us which with a little bit of help from my cousin JJ we made it work. We added a slide that goes down to the second floor, my idea, and that floor is where the kitchen, living room and quest bedrooms are while our rooms are on the top floor, each room has their own bathroom and walk in wardrobe.
But enough about our amazing apartment, I need to find Judy. We were downstairs so I'm guessing she's in her bedroom looking for an outfit to wear to my cousin's pool party. Judy is the girly girl of the three of us, she loves to stay in with the fashion, she can walk in stiletto heels and basically do anything with her hair and makeup. Raven is more of the chilled back one of us three, if she could she'd wear her sweatpants and oversized long sleeved shirt all day if she could, but she likes to look presentable. Then you get me, I think I'm a little bit of both, but I won't wear stilettos even if my life depended on them.
I went off topic again and because of my over thinking mind I tripped while walking up the stairs and his my face against the wall with a loud bang making me groan before hearing footsteps jogging down the stairs.
'Oh my God Harper are you alright - wait that was a stupid question,' Rudy said helping me up making me lightly chuckle. She started to look if I had cracked open my scull but smiled to see no head wound, I might have a huge ass bruise there in the morning though.
'Judy, we're going to Nordic Bakery, you coming?' I asked with my puppy dog eyes, to tell you the truth I liked when we all go somewhere together, even if I made one of them go when they didn't want to come. That's just how stubborn I am. Judy gave me her million dollar pearly white smile before nodding.
'Let me just put my shoes on and I'll meet you downstairs,' she said jogging up the stairs.
'Raven is already in the car!' I yell up at her.
'Okay, be down in ten!' She yells back as I slowly walk down the stairs making sure I don't trip.I'm a very clumsy person, I trip over everything; shoes, animals, chairs, tables and my own feet, I also always walk into things. It sucks because sometimes I'm mentally talking to myself and then I don't see the wall that I'm about to walk into -
'Oof,' I grunt as I fall onto my bum and slide down the stairs with a groan. See, that's what I'm talking about, I think I talk to myself a little too much. I get up and rub my sore bum before going down the rest of the stairs till I reach the parking lot to see Raven leaning against her black 2013 Hyundai sonata, I still am in awe how she saved up enough money to buy it and to keep it in such good shape.
'Took you long enough,' Raven said opening the door.
'Sorry, fell down the stairs again,' I said rubbing the back of my neck chuckling. Judy shook her head and climbed into the passenger's seat, while Raven sat in the driver's seat and I sat at the back. Raven turned on the car and it purred to life, her brother had fixed it up in the beginning just changing a few things, and by a few I mean a lot. Basically he took out the whole engine and switched it with a different one, he is a mechanic so he knows what he's doing. But yeah, so Raven's car is one in a million.
She parks in front of the Bakery and I quickly climb out and close the door, trying not to slam it otherwise Raven will have my head. I jogged towards the bakery and walk in to see only one table was open so I quickly jogged over and laced my cellphone on the table, Judy and Raven following behind. They sat down and I turned to them asking what they wanted me to get them, before I walked over to the counter.
'Hello, welcome to Nordic Bakery, how may I help you?' The guy asked with a warm smile.
'Okay I'd like one hot chocolate, one chamomile tea, one espresso, one almond twist, a slice of mud cake and one cinnamon and apple muffin please,' I said and he wrote everything done.
'Okay, come back in five minutes and I'll have your order ready,' he said before starting on making our drinks. I walked back to our table to see Raven reading her book, I looked at it and read the cover Alone by Robert J. Crane, Judy on the other hand is tapping away on her phone. I roll my eyes and look around the cafe, my eyes meet icy blue ones that belong to a man sitting by one of two tables with four other lads. He gives me a cheeky grin and wink making me chuckle and blush before I go back to the counter.
'That'll be fourteen pounds please,' he said and I took my wallet out and took out my momeny and handed it to him,' I took two drinks and walked back to the table and set it down before going back.
'Umm miss you gave me more than you needed to,' he said as I picked up my drink and the muffin.
'That's your tip,' I said sticking my tongue out a bit making him chuckle. I turned around and almost bumped into a guy's chest but stopped.
'You need some help?' He asked his accent different to mine.
'Umm yeah, that would be nice,' I said with a small smile, he grinned and took my cake and the almond twist and walked to my table. I put down the other goods and thanked the guy.
'I'm Daniel by the way,' he said and took my hand kissing it.
'I'm Harper and you're a charmer,' I said chuckling making him grin before walking back to his table. I sat down and Judy gave me a look taking a small sip of her espresso while I took a bite of my cake almost moaning as the chocolate melted in my mouth.
