It all started when you arrived at his house. You'd always meet up after school and for some reason he was extremely dismissive. As soon as Taehyung saw you he pulled his sleeves down over his hands. He used the front door as a barrier between you two. You tried to observe him enough to understand why he was hiding.

"I can't hang out today." He spoke softly. You looked down at his masked hand as it grasped the door knob. You remained silent as you noticed that they're was blood on his hoodie. The part of his face that was visible was drenched in sweat and he looked like he was in a state of shock. "Are you okay?" You asked as you pressed a hang against the door.

He nodded and gulped as he refrained from making eye contact. You placed a hand on your backpack strap and backed away. "I'll see you tomorrow?" You asked with a small pout forming. "Yeah, I'll make it up to you." He spoke softly. You waved and waited for him to reply with a similar gesture. He stuck his sleeve covered hand out and waved it.

As you walked down the stairs to the driveway Taehyung swiftly shut the door. As you made your way back home tears began to roll down your cheeks. You weren't sad, initially. However the fact that you knew your best friend was hiding something from you made you feel upset. You wanted to help him, you wanted to be there. He wouldn't let you. He wouldn't tell you anything and it hurt.

When you got home, you did some of your homework. It was hard for you to get things done because you couldn't keep your mind off of your troubled best friend. You continuously looked at your phone while tapping your pen on your paper. On any other day he would've text you by now.

You sighed loudly and pushed your homework aside. You strolled around your house, thinking of all the possible things that could have been bothering Taehyung. You remembered the blood on his sleeve. You remembered the way he avoided eye contact. "Was he being bullied?" You whispered lowly to your self. Your head couldn't possibly entertain that thought for much longer. You walked back too he room and picked up your phone.

You called Taehyung and began to tear up. "Hello?" He answered with a deep shaky voice. "Hey? I just wanted to make sure you're okay." You spoke instantly after him. He sighed into the phone."I'm okay. Don't worry." He said trying to brighten his tone. "You're lying to me." You began to cry into the phone. "I just want you to be okay. Why won't you talk to me?" You added while clinching your phone. "I-I am talking to you. It's not something I could just tell you. I don't want you to worry about me." He told you. You cringed at his words. "How can I not worry about you? You've been so distant. I just want to be close again!" You yelled at him letting tears escape your eyes.

After your outburst, you heard the line disconnect. He hung up on you. You threw your phone and shut your eyes in disappointment. Why was it so hard for you to be there for your best friend?
