*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

Paige was woken up by the loud and rapid knocking on the door to the apartment complex that she and her sister Tess lived in. The apartment was small the only rooms were a bedroom, with only one bed, a broken fan, and barely visual light seeping through boarded up windows. The kitchen that was pretty big considering other places, had a broken stove, broken fridge, some of the brown cabinet doors were broken and there was a broken black wall clock. Looking at the dark and eerie place made Paige sigh trying to think back to when things were different, when it was Paige, Tess, and Joel..... when Paige was still happy. Hearing the loud knocking again Paige started to slowly move towards the end of the bed, once she made it to the edge she slowly let her feet settle on the wooden floor and stood up.

Paige looked down at her shoes, noticing that her once black shoes were now slowly turning into a brownish color from all the mud and dirt. Then her pants. Paige wore baggy black pants that would fall to her knees if it hadn't been for the brown belt secured around her waist. On her belt she had gun holsters and pockets to keep her small knife that had the initials "P.E.M" on the side of the blade. Then her shirt. Paige had a grey long sleeved collared shirt with a small black vest covering the front of the grey shirt. Paige had a large black beanie that covered most of her hair. People in the district would usually always mistake her for a guy, and Paige didn't really mind because she never corrected people on it. Paige never really talked to anyone, and when she did it didn't matter because she had such a husky deep voice that it sounded like any young boy voice would sound. But the main reason she didn't talk to people was because she didn't want to get attached to anyone. She couldn't handle caring for someone you love so much and then losing them ....... 'not again' Paige thought.

Her train of thought was cut off when she once again heard the banging. Brought back from reality again she started walking to the door shouting "I'm coming!" to try to stop the person banging the door. The banging stopped as Paige unlocked the door and swung the door open not surprised to see Tess, but surprised to see a bloody scar of Tess's face and blood dripping off her forearm. Paige sighed to herself as she ushered Tess into the house and closing the door behind her.

As Tess made her way to the table with her whiskey to pour herself a drink. She offers Paige the glass. "Want some?" Lifting her glass closer to Paige's face and arching her eyebrow at the question. She knows Paige doesn't want any, Paige never drinks she hates the smell and bitter taste to it. But she's trying to avoid the conversation that's about to come.

Paige sighed she knew her sister too well. "Stop trying to distract me. Just tell me where you were Tess." She looked pointedly at Tess. She watched as Tess lower her gaze to the floor that's when she knows that it's serious. Paige sighed again before speaking "Fine you don't have to tell me the full story in one go, just answer my questions." Paige stared at Tess before moving closer to her while grabbing a rag. She slowly lifted Tess's face up. They were almost the same height, Paige was younger than Tess by 10 years but she had the tall genes on her so she was up to Tess's nose. Paige started to lightly dab at the bloody scar on Tess's face before speaking again. "So, you were where?"

Tess looked down to her sister's face trying to make eye contact but Paige eyes were focused on Tess's scar still lightly dabbing on it. Tess wanted to laugh, sometimes it felt like she was the younger sister. Before speaking Tess smiled to herself a little bit. She sighed again knowing where this conversation was going and answered seriously. "West End District. We had a drop to make." Tess said while moving her gaze to the kitchen staring off into nothing.

Now it was Paige trying to look up to her sister's eyes. She stopped her light dabbing and dropped her hand to the side. She looked at her sister with a slightly angry expression on her face. "WE had a drop to make." She put emphasis to the 'we'. "Which means you and me." Paige said while pointing to her sister then back at herself.
