Paige and Tess head out to be greeted by old run down buildings. Paige has gotten used to this, but it doesn't make it a prettier sight. All the buildings have wanted posters. She didn't recognize any of them but Marlene, The Queen Firefly. She wondered how she was doing. With all the soldiers killing off fireflies she would have thought that Marlene was dead by now. But she knew that Marlene never took 'no' as an answer she always had a way around things. Paige wondered if they could've actually been friends in another life. They definitely weren't the best of friends they didn't even like each other, but they weren't enemies, they were just simple frenemies. They helped each other from time to time.

Paige was reminiscing over old times when her thoughts were interrupted by a group of soldiers holding guns and pushing people out of a building. There were 4 people on their knees while the soldiers held guns to their heads and another person scanned them. The first 2 passed, but on the 3rd one the scan read infection. They pushed her to the ground and injected her with a single shot that made her squirm in pain before she stilled and died. The 4th one tried to make a break for it but was quickly shot with 2 bullets in the back. Blood seeping through his shirt.

Tess softly touched Paige's arm to get her attention. Tess had a reassuring smile on her face. "Come on." She nodded over to the gate. Paige nodded and followed Tess to the gate.

Tess walked up to the soldier guarding the gate. "Can I see your ID." Tess gave him both Paige's and Tess's ID cards. "What business are you planning?" He looked up and eyed Paige and Tess hard.

Paige spoke up. "It's our day off, just visiting a friend." The guard nodded and stepped to the side of the gate. "Carry on then." As Paige and Tess went to move towards the gate entrance a loud explosion caused them to stumble back. Paige looked up to see a car with flames on the top of the vehicle. She had an unbelievably loud buzzing in her ears, all she heard was faint yells telling them to get back and some people yelling that it was the fireflies. She couldn't register what had happened, but before she knew it Tess had dragged her into a building and closed the door. Once she caught her breath and her hearing turned back to normal she looked up to Tess to see that Tess had a medical kit extended to her.

"Here. Take it you look more winded then me." Paige didn't argue. She took the medical kit and quickly patched herself up. Once she was done she looked back up to her sister.

"Now what?"

"Well, they're gonna close all the checkpoints. We're gonna have to go around the outside." Tess said while starting to walk off, Paige quickly followed her. Tess was greeted by a man sitting on a chair in the hallway.

"Hey Tess did you see that shit outside?" The man asked while walking on the side of Tess.

"I was there." Tess turned her head to the man. "Hey, how's the east tunnel looking?"

"It's clear. I just used it. No patrols. Where are you off too?"

"Going to pay Robert a visit."

"You too?" Paige quickly becomes interested on who would want to see Robert too.

"Who else has been looking for him?" Paige asked before Tess could.

The man turned back to look at Paige before answering. "Uh. Marlene. She's been asking around, trying to find him."

"Marlene? What does the fireflies want with Robert?" Paige asked.

"You think she'd tell me?"

"Well what did you tell her?"

The man shrugged his shoulders. "The truth. I got no idea where he's hiding."

"Good man. Hey, you stay out of trouble alright?"
