~Maskie~

My eyes felt heavy as I sat on my bed, placing my arms on my knees and holding my head up with my hands, today could not have possibly gotten any worse. I reached for the container that held my pills, as it lie there almost empty, this was my addiction.

The house phone rang, echoing through the house as I rushed to pick it up, In hopes for Brian to be the caller waiting for my response.

"Hello?"

My voice cracked when I had answered, causing a laugh to come from the other end.

"Hey Tim, how's it going over there?"

It was Brian, my heart fluttered as I had heard his gentle voice.

"It's going wherever it's going at this point" I responded with a slight cough.

"Sorry for calling you at such a late hour, I just got home and wanted to check in on you."

Just got home? From where? He works a day-shift job.

"Thanks" I said simply, avoiding the question my mind, desperately wanted to ask. My coughing began to get worse, soon getting to the point where I had dropped the phone. I heard Brian mumble something before the call had ended. I just could not understand what it was.

I reached for my pills once again but could not find them.

I lie their, coughing, trying to find a way to stand up, as dark silhouette appears in the corner of my room before the static knock's me out.
