The Beginning

Hi, name's Ada. Pronounced a-d-awe. Don't mess it up. I am 14 and I'm very quiet. I have pale skin, black straight hair, white eyes, and bright red lips. No, I'm not a vampire. And no. They don't exist. I'm a human being. My mother said when she adopted me, I had blue eyes, but the color slowly turned to white. I live in the town of Sarpuah. Pronounced say-r-paw. Don't mess that up either, please.

Anyways, Bei bei... bay-bay... My best friend. She's 14. Has platinum blonde hair, almost white, pretty tan skin, petite figure and big bright yellow eyes. I know right, yellow? She wears colored contacts so her real eyes are brown. She is also very quiet. Sometimes to the point where it gets creepy, but I got used to it. She loves reading and even daydreams about it.

My other best friend, Hailey, is the only 'normal one.' She is 13 almost 14, has curly brown hair, brown skin, black eyes, and a curvy figure. She's hyperactive to the point where you would want to kill her. No joke. Anyways, she loves soccer and tickle fights.

We are like one big happy family.

I see a girl running.

"Wait! Where are you going?"

No answer.

I chase after her, but I never seem to catch up.

I stop and she does the same.

"What do you want from me? You tortured me long enough...what more do you want?" She screams not turning around.

"Bei?" I yell back confused.

She turns around wide-eyed. Then collapses on the floor sobbing.

"I c-can't say I-it." She whimpers.

Everything freezes. Everything is black.

Then she kisses me.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

"BEI BEI!" I scream with tears running down my cheeks.
"I-I'm retard-ed." I softly spoke to myself. I wiped my eyes and went to the bathroom.

Ring ring...

Ring ring...

It's Bei.

I slowly answer, " Hey birdie."
Trying to sound casual.
"Hey, uh, did you have a confusing dream?" She says shakily.
"Oh. Um. Yeah I did. You were in it crying, am I correct" I replied with a concerning voice. I hear sniffling on the other end of the phone.

I guess that's a yes.

We've been having identical dreams lately so we're used to it. But this. She. I can't believe she. Kissed me. And oddly. I loved it. She could never know that.

"Bei, uh, I love you..." I quickly respond to break the silence.

Way to go genius...I just said she couldn't know. What did I do...

She stopped sniffling.

And hung up.

"Crap." I screeched, looking at the time. " Ugh. Forget it, I'm not going to school today."

I lay on my side thinking how dumb I must have sounded.

I never saw her again.

Bei Bei's POV

I hung up. Packed my things in my backpack. And left.
Gone.
No one's gonna miss me. Ada was just lying. She would never love me. It's impossible. We're both girls. That's horrifying and disgusting. Thinking about it makes me wanna puke. So, why'd you kiss her like that? You know you wanted to say the same thing. "GET OUT NOW!" I scream. Running, running, running until I couldn't run anymore. Then I come across the wooden gate. "I don't care about the stupid laws. I'm opening this gate."

It took me about a half an hour before I was able to pry it open.

The stupid lock it blocking me from opening it any more.

Aggravated, I use two bobby pins to unlock it. It worked.

I would've thought they had more security than just a cheap lock if they really wanted us out.

I opened the gate a bit more so I can go threw. "Yes, now what are they hiding here in this forest?" I whisper to myself.

Click...

I turn around to find trees and bushes. More forest.

Whe-where is the ga-gate? Where are the houses? I didn't walk yet. I should've still seen the gate.

I took off my backpack and got a journal surrounded in locks.

"Mother said if something is odd open it. How the heck am I supposed to do that?" After about an hour of looking at the journal I tossed it on the ground.

Whosh...whosh..whosh...

The locks were unlocking. The locks were unlocking. By themselves.

Not knowing what was in this forest I stopped myself from screeching. When all the locks unlocked I quickly grabbed the journal and opened it.

Nothing. Was. In. The. Stupid. Journal.

"Crap!" I nearly shouted.

With no hope of ever going back home I put the journal in my backpack and slide down the hill. Running, running, running until the end of time...

Maybe I'm just being dramatic. But it seemed like I ran forever. Until I saw a fox-girl or uh girl-fox?

"Hi...Wait how?"

Her voice was screechy and high pitched. Annoying. She was very tan and her hair was in high braided pigtails, and still her hair touched the ground. She had a white pretty dress, her right upper arm had Indian tattoos, red cat eyes, big white pointy ears, but finally she had a red fluffly tail with a white tip.

Uhhh. A tail?

"That's what it looks like right?" She said with a bit of sarcasm in her voice. Me being the idiot that I am, I ran up to her and tried to pet her tail, but before I could she jumped back and hissed at me.

She hissed...

"What? You think I would let you pet my tail?" She looked determined...to hurt me...and wagged her tail. She pounched in the air and tried to bite me. I dodged her attack and started running. Her tail became 9 tails and her eyes started glowing red.

Shit I'm dead.

"O-ow!" I could barely run anymore. It felt as though bones were coming out of my back. My hands were growing claw-like nails and soon I started to fall.

Then I blacked out.
