Tasha glanced out the window. It was almost midnight and the full moon was shining radiantly. Quickly, she picked the lock on her window and thrust it open. Throwing an anxious look behind her, she gathered up her long billowing gown and climbed out.Cautiously, Tasha tiptoed along the narrow ledge of the palace walls. The wind buffeted at her legs and her long dark locks whipped around madly. Down below, the wind howled as she teetered dangerously over the edge. One wrong step could lead right to disaster. Suddenly, a hand clasped over her mouth and hauled her over. Thrashing, Tasha felt herself being hauled over the palace walls and with that, she blacked out."Do you think she'll be alright?""Don't worry sweetie, she'll be just fine,""But what was she doing climbing outside anyways?""I have no idea. Maybe when she comes to it, she might tell us,"Slowly, Tasha blinked her eyes open. Everything seemed hazy and she her head spun. Two figures leaned over her, their faces blurry out of recognition"Darling, how do you feel?"Her mother's voice. Slowly, Tasha's vision cleared and she found herself looking at her mother's concerned face. A warm morning light illuminated her mother's curly brown hair."What were you doing outside sweetheart?"Her father slowly came into view, leaning over her."Oh! Uh, I was only taking a midnight walk," Tasha lied hastily, sitting up."A midnight walk? That's very peasant-like for a young princess like you," replied her mother as she smoothed down Tasha's bedhead."That was very irresponsible of you to go alone. You could've at least called your guard to come with you. It was good that one of the guards on duty caught you before you got yourself hurt!" Tasha's father ranted.Suddenly, one of the guards standing at the door stepped forwards, bowing"I'm sincerely sorry your highness. I mistook you for a thief getting away last night otherwise I would've have treated you with more care. Deeply sorry your highness," he bowed deeper"That doesn't matter much. Just as long as our little darling princess is safe and sound now is all that we care about," answered Tasha's mother as she waved the guard away."Now darling, we trust that you won't go wandering off by yourself again. It's a dangerous world out there and we wouldn't want our little beauty to get hurt. We'll leave you to your rest now. If you feel sick, just tell the maid and don't leave the room," her father said as he got up and slowly walked away with her mother. There was a click as the door was locked and footsteps faded away, leaving Tasha alone. She knew if she was going to escape and be free, she would have to come up with a better plan than climbing out of her window.
