We layed down in a circle, staring at the stars. We started talking about hopes and dreams. After hours of talking, we finally fell asleep in our tents. I couldn't sleep so I went outside and sat on a log, enjoying the silence. Ben walked to me and joined me.

"I never imagined myself having so many friends." He said as he turned to face me.

"All thanks to you, Megan." I smiled and stare at the stars.

"It's beautiful."

"You are."

"The stars I meant." I said as I looked at him, giggling.

Ben was  the cheesiest flirt ever. He said his father taught him. We laughed as we joked around.

I wanted to freeze that moment. I wanted to record all the moments when I was genuinely happy. The picnic, the sleepover and this camping trip. Everything was perfect.

Now, Ben and I were laying side by side. I was staring at the stars with him.  I told myself that Connor and Claire were watching me from above.

"Hey Meg." Ben broke the silence.

"Yeah?"

"Would you like to go to the prom with me?"

"I love to. But I'm not going to prom."

"Why not?"

"I don't know."

"Can I join you?"

"Sure, I guess."

We layed there in silence and I fell asleep. I heard Ben's snoring and I smiled to myself.

I woke up to find myself in Ben's arm. I stood up, trying my best not to wake anyone so they wouldn't get any ideas. I succeed, a second before Ben started to wake up. I knew my face was red as a tomato so I hurried to my tent. I heard Ben chuckled and he went to his tent. I was so embarrassed.Ginger was tapping me on my face.

"Stop it." I shooed her away. Ginger walked out the tent and joined the others for breakfast. I regained myself and went outside. Ben had a smirk on his face and I rolled my eyes. Chloe noticed and she looked at me.

"What happened?"

"What?"

"Ben and you. Something happened. Don't lie."

"Nothing."

I sat down and Chloe gave me a glare. We sat there eating breakfast greedily. The girls kept talking about prom and begged me to go. The reason I didn't want to go to prom was money.Having a disabled sister, a mother as a waitress and a bus driver for a dad was hard. Money was a serious topic for the whole family and I didn't want to waste it on prom.
I planned to start working again after summer.

                             ...

The camping trip came to an end. Everyone got in the car and we headed to New York. School was starting soon so the girls went prom shopping as soon as they arrived to New York.

I went home as I dropped them off at their houses. They asked me again if I changed my mind about going to prom. Of course, I declined their offer. I was about to drop Ben at his house until he spoke.

"So, since you're not doing anything at prom night. Can I come over?"

"For what?"

"Ginger."

"Sure." We said our goodbyes and I drove back to my apartment. I was sure Ben was planning something else but I pushed the thought away.
