In a span of a few hours, Bekah was beginning to feel right at home.
B
The Avengers had welcomed her with open arms. She fit perfectly into their little group. And it almost seemed as if she was instantly part of the family. It was a big relief for her that she fit in. She hoped that Grace would feel the same way once she met them.By the time Bekah thought to glance at the clock it was already midnight.
Sam, Bucky, and the Twins were just saying their goodnight's and heading to their rooms. Rhodey was helping Maria with her coat. Rhodey had offered to drive her home and since he had to get back to the army base anyway she'd excepted. After saying goodnight to the group they headed home.
The remaining group was gathered around the couches once again. None of them were quite ready to call it a night.
Steve, Natasha, and Bruce were sitting on one of the two beige couches. Thor had commandeered the chair to their right. Tony and Bekah sat across from them on one of the other couches. Clint was perched on the arm of the other chair beside Thor.
"I cannot believe you told her the Christmas cookie story!" Tony exclaimed, shooting Natasha a look.
"Stark, you totally had it coming." Nat said with a smirk, "And anyway, she would have found out sooner or later."
Bekah was snickering, "Tony, I cannot believe you put onion powder in the cookie mix. What in the world were you thinking?"
Tony tried unsuccessfully for a few minutes to defend himself. So he gave in and just sat there with a moody frown on his face.
Clint sighed dramatically, "I couldn't look at let alone eat cookies for two months after that disaster."
Tony sighed and put his head in his hands. "I've been apologizing for months now you guys. I even swore to not bake without supervision ever again. Will you just let this story die already? It's mortifying."
Steve chuckled, "In your dreams. This is a classic."
Thor sipped his drink, "Some day I should show you how to bake real cookies, Anthony."
"Real cookies?" Tony said skeptically. "You know how to bake real cookies?"
"Of course I know how, Anthony. My mother loves to bake," he said with a smile, "Not to say your Midgardian cookies aren't tasty. They're actually quite nice. But believe me, sir. You've never experienced real life if you haven't tasted an Asgardian Flower Cookie."
"You call them flower cookies?" Tony said with a snort.
"Yes, they're delectable," Thor responded. The two continued to banter back and forth.
Natasha sighed as she leaned over to pick up her drink again. "Those two could debate for hours."
"I'd believe it," Bekah said taking a sip of her soda. "I've never known Tony to turn away from a debate."
Clint rolled his eyes, "Our dear Stark loves a good argument *ahem* debate."
Thor and Tony ignored the rest of the group and continued to debate the quality of desserts.
"So back to meaningful topics... Are you looking forward to starting your new job on Monday morning?" Bruce asked turning to Bekah.
She nodded, "Oh yes! You all have made me feel so welcome already. I think it will all work out just great."
