Chapter 1

Soon as I walked into our small one bedroom one bath house I was greeted as normal. The house had at least twenty niggas in here which made it hard for me to even get in. I knew everybody better had they money this week. Trappin' outta here wasn't free! Once they saw who I was they started making way for me and start saying what's up. The first person I spotted was my daddy. He was behind the counter breaking down the crack along with my Godfather Caine. I was so used to them getting right to it, I wasn't phased. We had three microwaves along the counter and they all was going at once.
Yayo was my daddy and took care of me like a princess. Even though we lived right in the hood and had the best products; that didn't stop us from looking like superstars. Any crackhead, dope boy, or prostitute could vouch and say we had the best of everything. Our house was like the one stop shop. You need weed, cocaine, amination, TV's, some pussy, or even just a chill spot. My daddy and Godfather had it all if you went in ya pockets and wasn't afraid to spend it.
"Hi daddy. Happy New Years. Love you," I said hugging my daddy. I had to look up to him because he was way passed my five foot frame. He was dark as hell and most was afraid to even speak to him.
"Hey ZyZy boo. Them girls fucked with you tonight?" My daddy always got to the chase. He never did the small talk. Even though I was in college now the same girls I went to highschool with always tried to pick. Messy hoes got on my damn nerves.
"Naw. Once they saw the heat they stepped. But I'm not worried about them daddy. How things been around here?" I had to get closer to my daddy and speak up because the Kevin Gates was loud coming out the huge speakers. Since my daddy was like a fucking God around here it came with ups and downs. Bitches had been coming for me for a while now. At the same time some wanted to befriend me because they wanted my daddy.
"Don't never sweat no bitch and don't-"
"Trust these hoes," I said finishing my daddy sentence which I did a lot nowadays. I didn't roll with no one. I might kick it time to time but I always had my guard up. No one was able to get close to me because I didn't fuck with nobody period. My daddy always told me to ride solo so I did.
"Damn right Tink!" Caine had been clearly drinking. He was slurring his words and loud as hell. He had been calling me Tink since I was in diapers. He didn't have no kids so I was the closest thing to it.
"Aye!! Caine chill out damn. It's one hour into the New Year and you already getting fucked up," said my daddy annoyed. My father didn't drink at all or smoke. My daddy liked being sober. With his hands in some many different pots he wanted to have a clear mind. I gave my Godfather a big hug and left the fellas along. I wanted to take a much needed shower and get out my dress. My Louboutins heels were killing me.
"Hi Zy' Noir," said KaNui pausing the game just to speak to me. His accent was thick which made everyone look at him as not the typical street nigga. The other dark skin young boy was upset because they were playing 2k and he was already losing. No way was he going to lose his last three hundred dollars. All the D boys came to play on the PlayStation or Xbox. They never played for fun but for that mula. KaNui wasn't worried about the game now. His eyes was on me like most of the other younger guys in the house.
"Hey," I said dryly. I was eighteen and he was about a good two years older than me I think. I never payed any of the boys any mind that came in and out my daddy house. I didn't crave having a street nigga. My daddy was everything to me and I didn't need no other nigga in my life. I went into my room and took a good shower. I had been invited to the Penthouse party downtown. Since it wasn't really my type of party I bounced once the clock struck twelve. Alton wasn't that far from St. Louis like everyone tried to make it. Before I graduated and was in school everybody thought crossing the bridge was like going out of town. For me it wasn't nothing to hop in my BMW and go to St. Louis throughout the day.
***
"Come on Big Yayo! It's New Years and you up in the house for real?"
"Mane kill that shit," said daddy not really caring for the New Year. Everybody always said what they was gonna do differently and he wasn't up for the bull shit. He figured fuck what year it is, get to the money regardless. Plus he didn't feel like being around a whole lot of drunk hoes. The strip club was never his thing.
"We can go to the east side then you can do whateva you gotta do," said Lil Jojo. He was determined to get him out the house. Lil Jojo usually drove my father Escalade for him. Since daddy was always up on business, driving was not an option.
"Actually it don't sound too bad bro. We can hit up bottoms up and after make our way to go handle that other shit. We got time." Caine was all in for seeing some half naked bitches.
"Everybody it's time to close shop. Get the fuck out," said Caine. If they was really going to go out tonight they first had to get all the bystanders out and extra people out the crib. No way they was gonna leave the trap full of niggas. Everyone had to go. No one put up a fight and got they shit and left.
"Hold up my mane. I'm still gon handle you," said Yayo stopping KaNui before he left. KaNui picked his head up and threw his wavy hair to the back. He had saved enough money to finally get those ten bricks. He knew if he sold a gram for fifty he could easily be set. Coming from poverty he was destined to make it for himself. Today was gon change his life.
"Good looking." KaNui moved to the side and let everyone else out the door. He finally was able to relax some.
"Aye Yayo! No disrespect but I been waiting to. Shittt I been here longer then this little nigga right chea," said Lenny. He was old as hell but he just didn't quite know the ropes of the game. He was almost old enough to be Yayo daddy damn near.
"Aye yo mane! Don't get yo wig split with that slick talk," said KaNui not backing down from the salt and pepper head dude. He wasn't going to allow anyone to disrespect him. He didn't give no fucks.
"Aye Aye chill out youngblood," said Caine laughing. He never saw KaNui react that way. He was usually quiet and calm. Everyone knew the young blood could get down and damn sure throw em but everyone knew that so no one fucked with KaNui.
"Come tomorrow nine am and I'll have yo shit. I even throw in some extra grams for the delay," said Yayo making Lenny more than happy. He would've waited until next week for some extra grams. That's just how his mind was. Lenny gave a head nod and disappeared into the night. His hustle was all backwards.
"Did you make sure all my money was here? I don't want to count it and it's a dollar short youngblood. You saw the outcome of Tocco," said Yayo checking out the duffle bag full of money that KaNui just brought in from the his latest F-150 truck. KaNui had watch Tocco get his ass whooped for four hours. Caine ended up throwing him in the shed and no one knew what happened afterwards.
"It's all there boss."
"It feel about right. I'll go get the shit," said Caine lifting the duffle bag up and down. He was so good with money he could eye ball it or even just pick it up. Caine grabbed his strap and went out to the storage spot behind the small house.
"You think you can do something for me youngblood," asked Yayo standing tall with his arms cross.
"Fa sho! You know I got you. Say the word and it's done," said KaNui ready to put in work. Whatever Yayo needed he was there. Yayo was like a father figure to him and many more young cats like him.
"I need you to watch the house tonight again. My baby girl is asleep back there and I have a lot of shit up in this bitch ya feel me?"
"You want me to baby sit?"
"Look this ain't no petty shit! I'm talking about a life and shit mutha fukas will kill ya momma over if they had a chance. No disrespect to your moms but I'm serious here! I need you to be serious. Yes or no my man?"
"No disrespect taken. I got you. You know that. I just was trying to see actually what the job was. This not my usual thing but I can take care of it," said KaNui trying to digest how he just agreed to fucking babysit on New Years. Other times he wouldn't mention his daughter because she was grown. Why the hell he was asking for a baby sitter blew him.
"This all yours youngblood! Keep these bricks close to you now," said Caine giving KaNui exactly ten bricks. KaNui accepted and felt his life change. It was like him getting his first brick times ten. He was ready to put his work out in the streets ASAP.
