From her bed, Halo stared at the clock on the wall, at its circular black frame, at its decaying background, at its thin
black arms.School will start thirty-five minutes from now, and her mother's forgotten to wake her up.
Again.
But the edges of her lips quirked up, and the soft glow of the morning settled gently on her features.
It was going to be a normal day.
(At least, she hoped.)
