The Idiot PrinceThe voice echoed through the halls, calling forth the name of the person who was responsible for such mischief. He, once again, pulled another prank on the guests. But this time, they're not just normal guests, they're the Royal Family of the Northern Kingdom, the Hwang Family. The said person was hiding behind the bushes with some guy with him.
"Dude, your dad is calling you." the guy said.
"Stepdad." The other party retorted.
"Whatever. Why are we hiding again?" the guy asked.
"Because I did something good."
"So why does your da-err... stepdad sound annoyed?"
"Ugh. Key! Stop asking questions, will ya?"
"Psh..."
The two argued under the table. The guy named Key is convincing the other party to just confess for his sins but the latter kept on disagreeing. Unaware of their surroundings, the bushes behind the guy rustled and moved, revealing the annoyed face of the new King, his stepdad.
"Aha! There you are!" the king pulled the guy's ear.
The king and the guy moved out from under the table slowly with the guy's grunts of pain. He struggled to break free from his father's grasp but his efforts were thrown in vain. Finally, the king let go of his now reddened ear.
"How many times do I have to tell you to stop pulling pranks in front of our guests?!"The king asked furiously.
"I didn't do it, alone!" He defended. "Key helped me do it!" He added while pointing to the calm Key standing behind him.
"Nope, the prince pulled that prank alone, Your Highness." Key replied politely.
The prince stared at his bestfriend with the 'at-least-help-me-here' look. Key just simply replied with the 'its-your-fault-haha-bear-with-it' look. The prince glared at Key who was smirking at him.
"Were you listening? AMBER!!" the King cut off their eye convo.
"Duh?!Obviously not!" Amber exclaimed. The King was obviously frustrated with the young man in front of him. He started calming down himself.
"Learn your manners, young man." He said after calming down.
"You should learn your manners too, old man. I was talking to Key, you know?" Amber retorted.
The King looked over Key who just shrugged his shoulders. The prince glared at Key and sent a "What-the-freaking-onion-are-you-doing" look. Key replied with 'you-should-be-punished-at-least-once-llama' look. He ended with their convo with the 'I'll-get-you-later-traitor' look. Key shrugged and smiled at him.
Amber and the King went back to thedininghall once again, joining their guests. Amber saton the seat in front of the Hwang princess. The King nudged the prince and mouthed, "Apologize."
Amber's POV
Ugh. Why the hell should I apologize for? I don't regret doing that.
I felt a nudge again. FreaKING. I hate this guy. He's not even my real dad. Then I felt someone step on my foot, intentionally. I looked at the freaKing and sighed in defeat.
"Umm... I'm really sorry for putting frogs in your plates and for ruining this dinner." I said, half-meant and bowed.
"It's okay, son. Please don't do that ever again." Queen Hwang replied.
