"Zoe, can you please come to this concert with me?" Macy asked.
I looked up from my writing. "No." I said simply, turning back to my work. She huffed behind me.
"Please, Zoe," she begged. "You don't even know who's--"
"I know who's playing," I interrupted. "Your Mum already asked me, and I have a lot of work to do,"
"Look, Paisley wants to go, and I don't want to go by myself,"
I closed my eyes and sighed. "I guess I'll go with you," I op[ened my eyes and turned to her. "When is it?"
"Tomorrow--"
"Oh my God, are you serious?" I stood up. "Are you serious?" I repeated.
She smiled and nodded. "Mum's given me permission to take Paisley and skip school, so we can get up there early,"
I sighed. "Okay, I'll go. We'll leave out tomorrow at eight so we can get up there at ten at the very least,"
A big smile came across Macy's face. She wrapped her arms around me and squeezed me tight. "Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!" She started to swing me around.
"You're welcome, Mace, now LET ME GO."
"What do you say?" she teased.
"Let me go, bitch," I emphasized.
"What was that?"
"Let me go, bitch, please," I said through gritted teeth. She released me at once.
"Thank you," she said sweetly.
I rolled my eyes. The clock on the wall read seven PM. "Don't you think it's time for you to go home, Macy?" I joked.
She looked at her phone and gasped. "You're right, Zoe! I must be off! I'll see you in the morning, Zoe,"
"See you in the morning," When she left, I flopped down onto the couch. Mum walked in and set a plate of food down in front of me and say down beside me. I picked up my tray and started to eat at the roast chicken she had made.
"How was your day, Zo?" she asked, taking a bite of her food.
"Good," I answered. "Macy's forcing me to go to a concert with her tomorrow,"
"One Direction?"
"Yeah," I answered. "Her mum bought her and Paisley tickets and they had an extra. So I'm skipping school tomorrow,"
"Are you sure you should do this?" Mum asked, giving me 'the look.'
I shrugged. "I can't really get out of it,"
She sighed. "I guess it's whatever,"
"Thanks," I took my plate back to the kitchen and went up to bed.
