North Carolina Days

Chapter 1

Orion's POV:
It was a Saturday morning, and I woke up to the sound of chirping birds and rays of sunlight streaming through my curtains.although this might sound like the beginning of a perfect day it wasn't. At least not for me anyways. Today was the day that my family was moving. Five weeks ago my mother gave me the news that were moving.
*Flashback*
"Okay see you tomorrow Lindsay," I said as I walked to my front door. Lindsay Hopkins is m best friend. We've been best friends since we were two. Our mothers were best friends, and I guess their daughters were bound to be the best of friends also. I walked through the front door and kicked my shoes off. "I'm home," I yelled. "We're in here honey," I heard my mom say. I made my way to the living room where I heard my moms voice come from. When I got to the living room I saw my older brother Mason sitting on the smaller couch. He looked pissed, really pissed. "Umm, sweetheart, sit down I-I need to tell you something," my mom said to me. "Okay....what's up?" I said taking a seat on the larger couch. "You both know this divorce between your dad and I hasn't been the best time," She said. I rolled my eyes. My dad and mom just got divorced two months ago. My mom found out that my dad was cheating on her. It was terrible, I should've know though, my dad was never ever home, and when he was he'd always pick fights with my mom. I honestly dont know why he's do that to mom. Why would he hurt us? Why would he hurt his relationship with his kids? My brother and I loved our dad, but now not so much. I've kind of been extra sensitive, and quiet since then, and only my three best friends know. Lindsay, Kai, and Amanda have been really uplifting, and I'm glad I have them in my life. "Sweetheart, I know this is going to be hard, but we're moving in five weeks to North Carolina. Moorisville to be exact," she said. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Is she serious? "Mom...why! I've been here my entire life. Why now? In the middle of the school year? Now I have to leave all my friends behind! Why would you do this," I yelled. "Because we need to get away. There are too many memories Orion," she yelled. "No you're just a coward. I hate you....and dad," I screamed and ran up to my room slamming the door. *End of Flashback*
I huffed and got up from the air mattress I slept on. All of our things were already moved to our new house. My mom wanted everything to be ready when we got there. I deflated the air mattress and folded it up along with the two blankets I used. I walked out of my room to the bathroom. I just washed my face and and brushed my teeth and threw my hair into a messy bun. I didn't really care about what I looked like. I walked downstairs to find my mom and my brother Mason already dressed. "Morning Orion! We're leaving in one hour. We will be having breakfast on the road," my mom said. I just nodded and turned to look at Mason. We haven't talked since mom gave us the news. Mason and I haven't talked to mom, but that doesn't give him a reason to be mad at me. He still looked pissed so I gave him a hug. He sucked in his breath and tensed up. I hugged him a bit tighter and he still didn't hug me back. I let go and look at him. He didn't even give me a glance. "Okay Mason, I understand," I said holding back tears. "If you need me I'll be at Kai's house." I said to no one in particular. Kai who is my guy best friend and my YouTube video editor lives three houses down from mine. I walked out of the door, and was instantly met by the warm sun. It's times like these where I'll miss living in Florida. It's early December and it isn't even cold. When I got oto Kai's house his sister Kia answered the door. "Hey girly! Come in, Kai's upstairs," she said. "Thanks Kia...I'm going to miss you," I said giving her a hug. She hugged back tighter. We'd always been good friends. She gives good advice. "Okay now get upstairs before you make me cry." She said. I nodded and ran up the stairs to Kai's room. "Knock-knock," I said. "Come in," Kai replied. I came into the room and sat down on his bed. I looked at Kai. He'd just woken up because his green eyes weren't their usual bright green. Plus his hair was messy. He still looked good though. I've always had a crush on him. "So it's your last day in Florida. What do you want to do," he asked. "I want to make one last YouTube video in Florida." "Okay you tweet to your followers while I set up the camera." "Okay, but it's a best friend Q&A."I said. He groaned but said,"okay." And went to make his self look presentable. I unlocked my phone and opened the Twitter app and then I tweeted: 'Hey guys I'm doing a Q&A video with my best friend Kai. Tweet questions with the hashtag #AskOrionandKai. Love you! :) <3'  I guess you can say that I'm YouTube famous. I have 950k subscribers on YouTube, 730k followers on Twitter, and 605k on Instagram. Kids at school treated me differently when I got more and more popular on YouTube, but it didn't phase me because my best friends stayed true to me, that was all that really mattered. Kai came out of the bathroom and he looked really good. I'm sure the girls who watch this video will be falling for him quickly. This would be the first YouTube video Kai's ever been in with me. Lindsay and Amanda have been in several, but Kai has always preferred to be "behind the scenes". "Okay you ready?" Kai asked. "Yeah" I responded. Kai pressed the record button and sat down next to me then I began talking. "Hello lovelies! Today is the day that I'm moving to North Carolina. I will miss Florida. I've been here since I was born, but things happen," I said chocking up a bit. Kai wrapped his arm around me. I felt better and then began to talk again. "So I decided to do a Q&A video with my best friend Kai Wesley. He's the editor of my videos. Today I asked him if he'd do a video with me before I go. So I asked you guys on Twitter to tweet us questions using the hashtag #AskOrionandKai and it trended worldwide because you guys are simply amazing! So now let's get started!" I said. Kai took out his phone obviously going on Twitter to find the questions. "Oh! I got a good one," Kai said. I nod and he continues by saying,"@NicoletlovesOrion says Kai how long have you been friends with Orion? Nicolet I've been friends with her since the first day of pre-k. She walked into the class with her mom and sat down next to me. Since then we've been inseparable!" Kai said giving me a really big hug. "Okay @orionlover asked who was my last boyfriend. Last year his name is Lucas." I answered "Ugh not that prick he cheated on you Rion" "Thanks for that." "Sorry umm @lindy327 asks will you ever do a collab video with a Grier brother?" "Umm...I don't know. Don't they live in North Carolina?" "Yeah they do" "Well maybe we might get to do one. I don't know we've never met so...."
We finished up the video in 30 minutes and I'm sure Kai's going to have to do a ton of editing. We both had our share of "bad words ", tickle fights, and just crazy moments while shooting the video. "So wanna go over Lindsay's house?" Kai asked. "Sure. It's too bad I can't say bye to Amanda," I said. "You'll be able to FaceTime her, don't worry." I nodded and Kai gave me a hug. "Okay let's go,"I said.  Kai grabbed my hand and began to walk to Lindsay's house. I swear I melted then and there. Kai has never held my hand for no reason. Maybe he's just being beyond nice today. When we got to Lindsay's house Kai rang the doorbell. Lindsay opened the door and she instantly looked at our hands intwined. "What the hell is happening?" She asked. I tried to pull my hand away, but Kai held onto my hand. "Nothing is happening Lindsay, now let us in will ya'?" Kai sassed in a playful tone. Lindsay let us in and we made our way up stairs to her room. "So it's your last day in Florida." Lindsay said taking a seat on her bean bag. "Yeah we did an ask Orion video."Kai said "That's cool." She replied. "Oh that reminds me I need to text my mom and tell her I'm over yours. "I said. I unlocked my phone and texted my mom.
To Mom: I'm at Lindsay's.
She texted back but I didn't read the message. She's probably just saying ok. "Umm...one question Orion. Did you shoot the video like that?" Lindsay's asked. I remembered that I was in my 1D pj's and my hair was in a messy bun, and I had in no makeup. "Yeah maybe I should give my fans a heads up." I said. I unlocked my phone and opened up my Twitter app and tweeted: 'So the video is filmed @Kaiiii will edit and post it by 2pm. And btw I'm in my lazy wear so #dontjudge' I also tweeted, 'Goodbye Florida, hello North Carolina.' Suddenly the hashtag #OrionandHayesCollab started trending. Then I got a notification from Hayes: From @HayesGrier: @Orion_N if you're moving to Carolina, maybe we could do a collab video. :)  I replied saying: @HayesGrier  I am moving to 'Carolina' to be exact and if you're ever available to do a collab video I'm here ;). Some of my fans my fans want me and Hayes to date. They've even created a ship name for us, #Hayion. I've only seen three of his videos and some of his brother Nash's, and the other boys too. We all follow each other on social media, but I've never met Hayes or the other boys. Then I got a DM: From Hayes: here's my number **********. I gave him my number in return and I stored his number in my phone. Then I turned off my phone. "I'm really going to miss you guys." I said "We're going to miss you more," Kai said. We all just basically sat around talking about all of our memories in Destin. 
30 minutes later
"Well I guess this is goodbye," I said as tears spilled from my eyes. "No we'll visit you, and I'm sure you'll visit us." Lindsay said. I nodded, we all grouped and had a group hug, and when I pulled back, for the first time ever I saw Kai crying. I began to cry more then I pulled him into a hug. He whispered,"I love you Orion. Don't forget me, or Lindsay, or Amanda. We love you. I'll miss you so much." I cried on his shoulder. He rubbed my back soothingly trying to calm me down but it didn't work. I hugged Lindsay one more time then my mom said,"We have to go sweetie." I nodded and walked to our car and began to ball my eyes out. I was leaving my my home. All because of my stupid dad. My mom got in the car and started it. When we passed our house with the Forsale sign in the front yard, I just cried and cried because now my life has changed crazily.

Goodbye Florida, Hello North Carolina.
