Throughout the next month and a half, Sam has started teaching, and Leighton has been working a lot. Thus, leaving them to go almost days without spending time with each other even though they live in the same home.
Sam is sitting at his desk, grading some papers as his current students are taking an exam. Only twenty-five minutes left of the class as he is ready to go home and see Leighton, it being her day off. He looks up to check eyes, making sure none are averted from their paper as he then sees one of his students, Sydney O'Connor.
Sydney for the past couple of weeks has been friendly to Sam. She's almost always the last one to leave the classroom after it's dismissed, always "running" into him at places and always gawking at him when he's teaching.
He looks up from his papers and sees Sydney staring at him, swallowing hard he points down, hinting to her she needs to continue her exam. Once she looks down, he sighs before continuing to grade papers.
Towards the end of the class, students bring their completed test up on his desk, Sam on his computer.
"Mr. Dawson?" he hears.
"Mhm?" turning around and seeing Sydney. "What can I do for you Sydney?"
"I was just wondering if maybe there were some extra tutoring or what not so I can boost my grade a little?"
"Well yes, they have programs and classes around campus where students help other students. You just te...."
"I want you to tutor me," Sydney cuts him off.
"I don't do the whole tutoring thing sorry," Sam shakes his head.
"Not even for your favorite student?" she smiles seductively.
Sam smirks, "sit down Sydney," he commands, another student walking up to turn in their test.
"Yes sir," Sydney winks biting her lip.
Sam watches her walk away, running a hand through his hair sighing. Looking at the time on the computer and then moving his eyes to his watch he looks up at the class.
"Alright guys, if you're done with your test you are free to leave. If you're not finished yet, don't panic take as much time as you need. You are my last class of the day, so I will stay in here till your finished. Have a good night," Sam ends sitting back down at his desk as people start to file out.
Sam looks up as a note is slid on his desk, it reads, "goodnight handsome. xoxo, your secret admirer."
Taking a deep breath and rolling his eyes he already knows who the secret admirer is just by common sense and the handwriting—Sydney. Picking the note up, he shreds it up before throwing the confetti-like pieces into the wastebasket.
