Janae

"Oww, why?" I held my head as I sat up. "How come I always have the hangover?" I whined to myself in my bedroom.

"That's because your dumb ass always seems to drink like a Marine. What were you thinking getting that drunk?" He attempted to discipline me. I swung the lower half of my body toward the side of my bedroom that Odell wasn't on.

"I felt like if I got drunk I wouldn't have to deal with the problems that come from New York. See cause it's not just my parents that make me want to jump off the Brooklyn bridge, it's shit like last night. Now how the fuck did Devin's wannabe drug lord ass find me?" I spoke sternly raising my voice.

This is the shit that I be talkin' bout when I get upset with him for even bring me home. I'd rather just stay in L.A. working in the home office.

He sucked his teeth. "You need to start getting used to New York."

"Why are you mumbling Odell because I feel like you got some more shit to say then what the fuck you're mumbling."

I was furious with him. I told him when we got out of school that I didn't want to step foot in New York, let alone the fucking Upper East Side.

I know for a fact that New York can and will be my downfall in life if I stay but I hate Odell because I can't leave his ugly ass.

"Listen. Before I start to talk I want you to pinky promise me you won't be mad." Rolling my eyes I started to shake my head no.

"No Odell, I can't make promises like that. You know how I am." He pleaded poking his lip out.

Just imagine a 6' 200 pound man poking his lip out. It was pretty comical and made me give in.

"Fine."

"I moved the home office to New York." I turned around right as he rat?n out the room.

Isn't this some shit?

Odell

I ran clean out the room and into the kitchen. I hid all the knives in the freezer, and I took the meat tenderizer as well. "She's not about to kill me."

"Odell, what the fuck did you just say to me? I seem to have lost my hearing with the drinking I did last night.." she paused and took a few steps towards me, as I stepped backwards out the kitchen. Grabbing my phone off the island I rand out and called my mom on speaker.

"Hey baby!" my moms voice rang through the phone, she was never good for anything else lets see if she cam calm down this raging woman. "Mom," I cringed at the word but kept speaking, "Janae, I told her the news, she's trying to get me." We were running around our dining room table like we weren't old as hell. I wanted to laugh at our cat and mouse game, but seeing as how I was the mouse I needed to get out of the way.

"Janae, sweetie...?" my mom called to her. Tossing the phone in the middle of the table I intently stared in to her eyes. "Yes, mama?" She answered rolling her eyes away from my stare.

Great, she's going to kill me after.

"Honey, you're upset about the move?" Janae looked as if she was going to lose her composure at any moment. "Ma, I don't want to be here. I can't be in this city." She started to whine. "Well you know what sweetie, how about you and Odell come over here and we'll talk." She nodded her head seemingly defeated.

She always obeyed my mother. Its not like her mother actually attempted to love her the correct way. Always making question herself. It wasn't for my mom she would be some coke head, spoiled little rich girl.
