Prologue

Welcome to Paradise

Thick, burgundy liquid dripped from it's hands. The flesh covering it's disgusting face was ripped of completely. The gender of it has become completely unknown. It's legs were nothing more then milky white bones, cracked in a few places. It crawled along the grassy terrain until it hit civilization. It gnarled and growled as it reached the front lawn of a sky blue and yellow condominium. Confused and horrified citizens circled around the creature in panic. It roared and lashed out at the people. The police have already arrived, yelling at the people to step away from the possibly lethal creature. Very few citizens obeyed. It had come to the point where the policemen had to elbow their way through the curious crowd, one stepping in front of the rest. The other police men slowly pushed the mob back and demanded them to go home. The creature snarled more as the police man became dangerously close. With big, red eyes, it looked up at the policeman.

"What is it," questioned a policeman farther back from him.

Still observing the mutilated being, he replied, "I don't know. What a disgusting sight."

"Kill...it!" The policemen were tired and wanted to go home.

"No, we can take it to a laboratory. They will know what it is. Call...a...paramedic," said the man closest to it. He did not know what to do, but did not want to panic the neighbors.

"Fine, I did, they are on they're way. They say they know what to do, so let's go," shouted a miffed policeman. He could not care less about the situation.

"Are you crazy? No. You are not leaving, and we are not leaving. Nobody leaves until the paramedics arri-" as he spoke, he did not notice the creature crawling towards him. It lashed out, leaving a deep scratch in his left arm. He turned swiftly, pointing his gun at the creature to make it back down, then clutched his arm in pain. The other officers simply laughed at him, and mocked him. Every one; complete idiots. Blood quickly gushed out of the wound, and on time, the paramedics had arrived. They rushed out of the van.

"Step aside, step asi-" demanded the paramedic, gently pushing through the crowd of policemen. He immediately stopped when he saw the creature. "Wh-what happened? How is this person ok? Everyone move, this is serious!"

"So it is human?" said the confused officer, still holding his arm. The paramedic stopped instantly, while the other doctors came in with a cart. "I-it hasn't spoken. It crawled here, we don't know what it is." The paramedic stared at the being for a long time.

"Whatever happened," said the paramedic, "he...it...is beyond fixing. Put it out of it's misery, please."

At this point, many frightened citizens had been watching the events from their window, taking pictures of the terrible thing. The policeman nodded, and stepped up to the thing. He pointed his gun at his heart, and pulled the trigger. Instantly, the loud boom echoed through the streets. Many people had jumped, this was visible through their windows. Thick, black liquid seeped out of it's chest, and it collapsed. Every policeman and paramedic stepped away in horror. It's blood was black. When they came back to their senses, they covered it in a blanket, and carefully, and hesitantly, lifted it on to the cart. "Finally, we can all go home!" chuckled an officer. He clapped his ands together, gathered his belongings, and swiftly drove away. The officer with the wound shook his head, unamused.

This was the brief, yet significant day that the plague spread. This was the day of the Undead.
