My name is Yuri.
I'm 15 years old and I live in the Ukraine.
Today is July 3rd 2001, and me and my sister are setting out on another journey to find our parents. We lost them on April 26th 1986, when reactor #4 in the Chernobyl power plant exploded. My sister Ally saved my life she was only 5 years old at the time but she knew what to do. But unfortunately she lost sight of my parents while we were being evacuated, and we never found them. To this very day we still search for them in Chernobyl.
Being a boy growing up without a father is hard. My sister taught me how to ride a bike and tie my shoes and use the toilet correctly and how to maintain my personal hygiene. I look up to my sister because she was so young and yet she took care of me and taught me everything even when she knew nothing . I don't even know what my mother and father look like. Ally says I have my fathers dark brown straight hair and misty grey eyes, and that I have my mothers light tan skin. Ally looks more like my mother, blonde hair and the light tan skin. But we both have our fathers eyes.
My whole life Ally taught me to be kind and treat everyone the way you want to be treated. So I treated them equally . But I can only keep this up for so long.
There's just some things I can't tell Ally.
Every time we set out on this adventure we don't even find clues. But somehow I feel like we're getting closer to finding our parents or at least their corpses. I'm tired of living my life not knowing if my parents are dead or alive . Hopefully this time we'll finally find them.
