As The Hearts Glow

❤Prologue❤

-Silas's P.O.V.-

I closed my eyes as I seen the fist flying towards my face. Pain exploded on the left side of my face.

"I told you that I wanted all of my homework done! This is what you get you fucking nerd!" Pierce yelled as I fell to the cold cement.

I knew I deserved this. Its been going on since elementary school. I should have learned my lesson the first time I didn't do as he said. 

I heard the horrible crack before I felt it. The searing pain. My rib and side was on fire and felt as though I was brutally stabbed. My scream lodged in my throat, ending in a silent scream. I knew, just knew, my rib or multiple ribs were broken. Punch after punch, kick after kick. Tears were streaming in an endless river down my face. 

Suddenly, Pierces Violent hits stopped coming. Cracking open my watery eyes, I seen a dim red glow. Tilting my head up slightly, looking up at Pierce, I seen him looking down at me in complete and utter shock. 

"Oh, fuck no." He said in a hoarse voice, his face contorting into an anger I have seen all to often. Except this time he seemed angrier. 

Looking down at my chest, I noticed my chest was also giving off a glow through my black band T-shirt. I quickly looked back up at Pierce, suddenly wanting to cry. 'This can't be real. He can't be the one. This has to be a nightmare!' I thought to myself. His fist came down once more, fast and cruel. The darkness came faster and consumed me. 

'Well, happy birthday Silas' was my last thought before I let myself slip away and be taken into the shadows of my mind.

First story! Pretty excited about this one. I have been really wanting to write this for a long time but couldn't find the inspiration to actually go through with it. Now I feel like I am ready. Ready to write an adventure that not only I can go on but also all of you who will read this story. Thank you for reading! -Maija
