bottlerockets,
skiing and water.
rustic motor-oil souls
drifting dry [not for long]
upon the boat.

at foot of mountain,
girls like boys on boulders,
tough sweat; sweating.
birks and paradise
[not ideal]

rolling rocks, fly fishing
lakeside tribal, water home.
driving city to lake,
natural cathedrals
of stomped ants by tire;
youth of us
encouraging
the way we grow
running away
from home.

winter wonderlands wait;
i can count on my first
hand the number
of times it rained
this year. we will return
to these wettened rocks
to make these beer cans
pop from sprung spring
to ringing winter
