I woke up feeling very hot and tried. My vision was blurry but a made out a dominant figure.

"Please don't hurt me!" I cried out

"I will never hurt you."

I vision came more clear and I made out the stranger I met on the side walk.

"What are you doing here?" I asked

"I heard a really loud bang, coming home from work so I came in and saw a man beating you with a bat, and took care of him, and took you here."

I looked around and saw what appeared to be a hospital room.

"Where am I? I need to go home." I asked

"We are in a hospital. You took some hard falls, I'm surprised you look so stunning after what happened to you."

Was he flirting with me? I asked my self. What do I say, what do I do?

"Umm... Thanks"

Really Beatrice! I had to do that.

"Umm I'm sorry... Umm" I said while touching my forehead feeling stitches.

"It's ok, I should be sorry." He apologized for no reason

"How bad was I hurt?"

"You had two fractured ribs, broken hand, tore up forehead, and concussion." He stated

I looked around my body, seeing my cast, and feeling the pain of my broken ribs.

"I'm going be with you, ok. The whole time your here Catherine." He said sweetly

"You don't know me, why do you care."

"I don't know you but, I want to."

That comment made my heart a little bigger. He cared, he actually cared.

"Thanks, but you should know something, my name is Beatrice, not Catherine." I said while he had a shocked expression

"Ok Beatrice"

He wasn't even mad. Wait... What?

"Your..." I tried to say before he cut me off

"I'm not mad, I understand."

My body had a shock of pain

"I feel awful, I'm going to rest , ok."

I said while I closed my eyes, I fell asleep in what seemed like 30 seconds.

-

I woke up, smelling the smell of mint and outdoors right next to my nose. I opened my eyes to see the stranger, whose name I don't know, hands around my waist pulling me closer to him.

What the... He opened his eyes and I quickly turned my head away and closed my eyes.

He got up from the bed. He went over to me a I think he was staring at me. Is he about to kill me... I'm kinda scared.

Then I heard his footsteps move away and out the door. I opened my eyes and blew out a sign of relief. I quickly scanned my room, and saw a desk with the doctors computer, shelves, a stool, and a bucket of magazines. No television, really.

I tried to get up, but quickly fell back down in pain.

"Ow!" I nearly screamed

"Be careful!" The stranger said while coming in.

"Why can't I move! What is wrong with me, I need to get out of here." I screamed in anxiety. I needed a cigarette.

"Hey, it's ok. I here I will help you."

"I don't even know your name!" I shouted at him!

"It's Lucas, Lucas Fisher." He said gently

That name sounded familiar, I didn't want to think about it so I pushed the name behind me.

"Now calm down, it's ok." He reached for my shoulder.

I smacked hand his away.

"Don't touch me! Just get away!" At that moment, I regretted what I said. I didn't say anything else though.

"Ok, I'll leave." He said while getting up, while his eyes where tearing up.

Oh my god, what did I just do. Lucas was so nice to me. What did I do. I didn't mean those things I said. Lucas was already gone when I had the confidence to say anything.

At that moment, I realized I had ruined the only good thing in my life. He made my heart beat.

I broke down in tears, laying there.

He was gone.
