// Flick your eyes and mine and then hit me
Hit me with your eyes so sweetly
Oh, you know you know you know that yes I love
I mean I'd love to get to know you //- No You Girls by Franz Ferdinand -
For some reason, the major part of a woman's life is characterised by the constant stress of knowing what to wear. I wasn't different and perhaps I was even worst, considering I'd never had much money and lack of space in my wardrobe was never existing. I had never been keen on fashion or whatsoever, but I've always found pretty important to have my own style and make a statement with it. I had pulled on a black and white upright striped shirt, burgundy jeans and my black Doc shoes.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and I made my way to the entrance of my studio. Leaning on the door's frame was Lizz, her right hand hanging in front of her lips. "Wazzup, sis?" She stumbled in and pecked my right cheek. I closed the door behind me trailed behind her. "Was gonna invite yer to go out, but see yer must 'ave something planned, am I reyt?" She scanned me and I hoped next to her. "Glad yer here! I need your help!" She sank on my settee and crossed her arms, smirking. "Tell me, mate!"
"Need to borrow your leather jacket." I stated staring at the mirror and messing with my hair, trying to sort it out. "Hum okay! Where yer goin'?" Lizz asked getting up and standing behind me. "Eagles of Death Metal at The Lexington..." Her eyes widened and I giggled "Wow! S'pose it's your Alex..." I turned around and scowled at her "My Alex? He's not my anythin'...but yeah, he's included on the plans, but not only him!" She rolled her eyes and punched my arm slightly. "I'm getting some makeup, too! Lock it on a messy bun..." Lizz added heading towards the door, pointing at my hair before leaving.
Fifteen minutes later I was waiting outside of my building for Breana and Matt to pick me up. I had put my hair up in a bun, one strand falling on each side of my face, purplish pink lipstick on, winged eyeliner and Lizz's leather jacket. I only had my ID and money on my pockets. Two minutes passed by, I saw flashes of light coming on my direction and then a car pulled of abruptly in front of my building. The passenger's window slid down and the beaming faces of the Helders showed up. I made my way inside the car and patted their shoulders. "How yer doin', mates?" I buckled my seatbelt and sat up straight on the leather seat of the car. "Gonna meet up wi' Al 'n' Alma at Nando's fer dinner, it's okay fer yer?" I nodded and shrugged. "Sure, I'll get myself a salad or summat..." I mumbled looking through the window. The sky was so dark, there were no stars adorning it. "Oh shite! Forgot yer are vegetarian..." Matt chirped hitting the wheel. "No prob, mate!" I replied with no fuss.
"Tell me one thing, Breana! How are you goin' to a gig when you've 'at huge belly 'n' you're due to next Monday..." I leaned forwards and my head was in the middle of Matt and Bre. "Which happens to be two days from now!" Matt added, rolling his eyes. "I told her the same, but-" Matt got interrupted by his wife. "Look, kiddos, once this baby girl's outta my womb, I'm not goin' to have a proper fun night in what will seem forever, so for God's fuckin' sake, lemme have one less night of rage, which's not goin' to be hard rage, since I can't even drink!" She yelled above us.
Matt and I remained silent, until Breana burst out laughing. "I'm sorry, loves! These are the hormones, didn't mean to be so harsh..." We both giggled and shook our heads, while she kept laughing.
Eventually, we reached the restaurant and Matt parked outside. "They're inside." Matt stated as he turned the engine off. In fact, Alex's car was parked two driveways beyond us. We swung off of our seats and headed wandered towards the Nando's. We stumbled in and the place was practically empty, there were an old couple having dinner and two middle-aged women sipping drinks. On the main hallway of the restaurant were Alma, Alex and a tall man chin-wagging with them. Alex snapped his head to his left when he saw us coming in.
"Cam, mate! How yer doin', bro?" Matt made two big steps and hugged the tall man. I saw his face for the first time and suddenly got interested on his figure. He had a very nice and well sorted beard that fitted him perfectly. Then, his medium-length hair was falling on the sides of his round face. They pulled off and he greet Matt "How you, pal?" He smiled and then I noticed Breana dragging me to meet them. "Breana, hey there!" They kissed each other's cheek and meanwhile, my eyes met Alex's and Alma's. I smiled and they mirrored me; Alma stepped forwards and pecked my cheek "How ya, girl?" She asked beaming, "Very nice!" I replied, feeling confident. "Hey, Alice!" Alex patted my arm and I turned around; we pecked each other's cheeks and smiled.
"Due to Monday 'n' I can't wait!" Breana was answering to the lad's question and that's when she decided to present me. "This is Alice, a recent friend of ours. Alice, it's Cam!" His eyes landed on me and a huge smile plastered all over his face. I didn't know whether to shake his hand or kiss his cheek, but he was faster than me. "Ow ya goin'? I'm Cam Avery..."He leaned forwards and kissed my cheek and I felt his beard brushing my skin. I grinned and replied "Alice Hepburn, mate..."
"What yer doin' in London, pal?" Matt queried and he answered him, his eyes barely diverting from me. I, on the other hand, was trying to avert his gaze and not to be clear like water. He was a very handsome and attractive man and I was feeling a bit attracted to him. "Ya know, we're off tour 'n' I was spending some time here!" Well he had a band, I could see where their friendship came from. "He's going to Eagles of Death Metal gig, Helders!" Alex blurted and Matt's eyes widened. "Goin' wi' us then!" He exclaimed clapping his hands on the air.
"Sit down on a booth, we'll order some food! Alice can ya help me out?" Alma asked heading towards the balcony. "Sure!" I trailed behind her and a young lad approached us. "Night, mates! What's your ask?" Alma ordered chicken for everyone and I asked for a salad, then we wait for the menus.
"Look, Alice" Alma said turning to me "I want to apologise for my attitude the other day. I was complete close-minded bitch! I had the most stupid jealousy attack 'n' I had no reason for so... I felt like a complete idiot after what happened! My boyfriend can have as many girl friends as he wants 'n' I don't have the right to act like that... I'm so sorry!" I smiled weakly and shook my head. "There was no reason for you to be jealous, but I understand you! Humans are like that, we like to protect what we love..." I stroked her arm and she replied "I know, but I'm sorry anyways..." I dismissed her apologies by shaking my hand in the air and she laughed through her nose. "You look superb tonight... Cam couldn't take his eyes off of you!" I twirled my head around and saw Cam giggling to some joke Matt had told and his glare found mine. I rubbed my neck and looked back at Alma "Oh shut up! He did!" She winked at me and I smirked.

The queue to get into the bar wasn't too long, but it was fair noticeable as soon as you would turn on the corner to The Lexington avenue.
"Alex, didn't yer forget 'bout 'em tickets, did yer?" Matt chirped making us all laugh, while Turner twirled his head to his shoulder and faked a laugh, his arm kept embracing Alma's body. Breana, Matt, Cam and I were a bit behind them, talking about our attempts to become a hipster on our adolescence.
"Well, ya turned vegetarian! That's very hipster..." Cam stated, smiling, while the others nodded in agreement. I rolled my eyes and replied "Yeah, but yer 'n' Matt had a band..."
"Tha's a very good point..."Breana pointed her index finger out for me. Cam and I giggled as we kept heading towards the bar.
Okay guys, I'm so fucking sorry, I don't update regularly! School started and the time and will to write are gettint shorter and shorter. The only solution I came to find is posting smaller chapters, because otherwise you'd be waiting forever for a new chapter! I really have a lot planned, but Gooooood, it's such a pain in the arse to write it down... Sorry once again xx
