'Splish Splish Splosh' goes the rain as me and Mya trudge down the sidewalk. We don't really talk that much when we are walking home from school. But we are really good friends! So, get that through your mind.
" Did you get the coupon book from the Pizza Party Palace?" I asked Mya casually.
"No," Mya replided sounding annoyed with me, "Why would I get one? I never do these stupid things!" I'm shocked.
Mya never and I mean NEVER talks this way unless, she failed a test, she was bullied(which will never happen 'cause we are popular!), or she is just having a bad day.
"What's wrong?", I ask. "nothing", she said, " I didn't get enough sleep that's all". "ok..." I said, sounding a bit uneasy. " If you need to talk just tell me! I'm here for you!" She stopped walking and said " well, its just that I miss my parents. They said that they would call me today to wish me a happy birthday, but they never did!"
Mya's parents where in Brazil for 5 years and they left Mya. It's sad yea, but I offered to let her stay with me instead of her deaf and blind Grandma Bessie! If it were not for me, Mya would be buried in hand-knitted sweaters that are ugly! No offense to Mrs. Bessie, but dang woman your sweaters are UGLY!!!!
"Wanna play Minecraft when we get home?" I ask. She is always happy when I ask!
"Sure!" she says," Finnaly, something that goes right on my birthday!"
We laugh as we walk through the door.
