Chapter 2

Hayley's POV

"Ok I'll wake up geez!" I yell over the pots banging together. "Today's the barbecue!" Adri screams, which makes my mom barge in and lectured us to stop screaming, since it was still 9 AM
in the morning. "Ooh mom what time is the barbecue?" Adri said excited. "It's at 11!" My mom yelled from downstairs.

"3 more hours! Get up you twig!" Kalen said, hitting me with pillows which made me groan. "Fine!" I said and got up, clearly showing I'm still tired because I almost fell back to the floor. "I'm picking your outfit!" Adri told me and I smirked. "Well I'm picking your outfit then!" I shouted back, sticking my tongue out, which made her stick her tongue out and roll her eyes.

"We're even then!" She clapped her hands together and started digging in my clothes, throwing them every where. Kalen sat on the bed, watching in amusement. "Ooh wear this!" She threw me my old beaten black converse with a blue flannel with my fall out boy shirt, and some skinny jeans to finish the outfit. "Also this." She said , handing me my wristbands and my choker. "I haven't worn this in so long!" I complained.

"Oh well I'm wearing mine and so is k, right Kalen?" She said, looking at Kalen who nodded. "Ok." I said and took the clothes, headed to my bathroom and took a small rinse shower. Putting on the clothes, I felt a little uncomfortable with the crop top shirt, it showed my belly. I put the choker and wristbands on, it wrapping around my skin.

"Come out, show us the outfit!" Adri shouted outside the door, knocking on it. Grabbing my pajamas, I headed out the bathroom and twirled around, showing them the outfit. "Cute." Kalen said and Adri nodded, grinning. "I know I'm awesome at clothing. You can thank me later." She said, whipping her hair and walking away towards her room.

"My turn to pick your outfit!" I shouted, and she turned back around and groaned. "Come on, you're horrible at choosing clothes!" She pouted and I put my hands on my hips. "No I'm not." I said and pushed her into her room, Kalen going to her room to change.

"Hmm lets see." I said, digging into her closet and looking for clothes that suited her. I soon found a red flannel and some black converse, also skinny jeans. "You're my twin! Except you're wearing different colors!" I said, handing her, her choker and wristbands as well. "Hm it's an ok outfit." She squinted her eyes at me suspiciously, going into the bathroom to change.

She soon finished and walked out the room, wearing the clothes I assigned her. She did the same thing and twirled around. "What time is it?" Kalen asked, she was already done and she was wearing a black and white flannel with some medium shorts and boots. "It's already 10:56! Hurry up and put your shoes on Adri!" I shouted at her, making her jerk her head up and run around to her converse, slipping them on eagerly.

"Girls hurry up!" Dad shouted, and we all ran out with our phones and my dad locked the door. From here, I can already hear music and smell smoke from the house. My sisters and me caught up with my parents, who were already at the doorway knocking. Of course, Jay opened the door and smiled at everyone. "You may pass." He said and gestured his hand to the barbecue outside, which I can see through the glass door.

"Hello Lauren!" My mom gave the woman a hug and she hugged back, my dad patting Jay's dad on the back, while me and my sisters stood there awkwardly. I looked around and spotted a few girls sitting around a table, Jay and Miguel were sitting there. The girls kept laughing and hitting them on the shoulder playfully,
making the boys laugh as well.

It made my stomach churn and twist at the sight, but I ignored it. I could tell Adri was already trying to hold her gaze back. My mom brought some friends of hers over here. "These are my daughters. Hayley, Adriana, and my little Kalen." We introduced ourselves and then we sat down at an empty table. I was playing flappy bird when I heard something.

"Why are they here Jay baby?" The girl beside him pouted sadly as Jay shrugged. "Blame my mom." He said and she laughed. I looked up and peeked, cake was watching as Miguel laughed with them. "It's a blonde bimbo like in Melbourne." She told me and kalen, rolling her eyes and continued to read her book.

"Why don't we go over to their table? After all, they seem pretty lonely." The girl beside Miguel stated, and the girl next to Jay glared. "Are you stupid? Why would we want to go by them Melissa!?" She focused her gaze back on us, Jay coughing slowly. So that's her name then. "What's wrong babe?" The girl looked over at Jay, who looked back at me and I looked at my phone, not meeting his gaze.

"Uhh it's nothing." He stated and she looked at him again. "Are you sure? I'll fix that for you." She said, moving closer to him and smirking. Jay moved his chair back and tripped, falling out his chair and everyone looked at him. Miguel was too busy laughing his butt off as the girl looked over him worried and got out her chair.

"Need help?" She asked, lending a hand. "Nah I'm good." He said, standing up and dusting his pants off, that was now covered in some mud and dirt. I slowly chuckled under my breath and I think Jay heard me, because he looked over to us and glared at me. My bad.

"It wasn't funny." The girl beside Jay scowled at us, mostly at me. I ignored that comment and focused back on my game. "You need help? I'll get you some napkins. Follow me." The blonde bimbo said as Jay followed her slowly back into the house. "Why don't we spy on them?" Adri suggested, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "I don't know A." I said, thinking of what will happen if we get caught.

"So who cares! It'll be awesome!" Adri muttered and I looked at her. "You owe me 5 bucks." I said and she nodded. "Deal." She said and she put her book away, as we both walked to the glass door. Mostly everyone was laughing or dancing to the music playing, not even paying any attention to us. Kalen stayed and guarded us incase something happened.

We sneaked behind the house, listening to them through the glass door. "Babe I can't keep doing this." I heard, Jay say with a small voice . "Oh come on, it's nothing. Lighten up!" She shouted, and from what I can tell, Jay huffed. "You're just using me for this, it isn't fair at all." He said, a little anger laced in his voice. "It'll be fair, if you let me repay you." She said and I can hear some pots falling down and the small sound of a make out session.

I soon couldn't take it, so I ran back to my spot, Adri following me but we soon bumped into a chest. Adri and me looked up, eyes shut tightly and we heard a faint laugh. "It's just me guys!" I heard Jay's brother say, his name was Miguel. "I saw you guys checking my brother and his chick out. Hmm spy's now aren't we?" He raised an eyebrow and Adri coughed nervously, and she raised her hand.

"I have a reason for that.." She said as Kalen kept trying to distract us by waving her hand in the air with panic laced in the movement. Adri stuttered between her words as Miguel looked at her in suspense. "Well we just wanted to c-check your house out and we heard them talking so we t-t-though, why not listen to the c-conversation..." Adri stuttered badly as Miguel looked. His face didn't really tell us he bought it, so he just stood there.

"So basically you were jealous and wanted to listen to the conversation to get with Jay's program?" Miguel asked, his face was hinted with utter confusion as he was talking to me. Oh no he did not. "I'm not jealous!" I shouted back to him, which made him nod his head sarcastically.

"Yeah you wouldn't listen to their conversation because you don't like him. But you did listen, so therefore your jelly!" Miguel gasped sarcastically and clapped a hand over his mouth while Adri laughed. Jay and his girl soon came back outside and it's when I realized something different about Jay. His shirt was all wrinkled and his pants were loosened, also his hair looked like it had been combed through with fingers. But the one thing that caught my eye was sitting right on his neck. It was a hickey mark. Fresh and made.
