Chapter 5

"Taemin...Taemin!", Onew called out while arriving at Ace's Burgers but Taemin wasn't paying attention. He kept thinking that Jonghyun was going to be there and his heart kept beating faster and faster. "What is this?" He whispered to himself over and over. "Taemin...Taemin!" Continued Onew. "What?" Taemin said. "I've been calling you for the past 5 minutes. What's wrong with you?" Umm..nothing is wrong. Are we here?" Taemin kept searching right and left to see if he spotted Jonghyun or at least some of his friends. He was a bit relieved that he hadn't seen them around yet. "Let's go! Emma must be waiting inside." Taemin nodded and they both got out of the car and went inside.

As soon as they got inside Onew quickly spotted Emma. She was sitting on a corner booth. "Hey! We're here! Sorry for making you wait so long." He quickly told her. "That's okay! I got here 10 minutes ago. I didn't really wait that long." She replied. Taemin had forgotten that Jonghyun was going to be there. His eyes were fixed on Emma. He hadn't notice her until now. He had this weird feeling about her and he felt as if he'd seen her before. His thoughts were interrupted by Onew, "By the way Emma, this is my friend Taemin. He's in our English Lit class. "Yeah, I know! Mrs. Young kept calling his name but he was too busy day dreaming." She said as she turned to look at him with a smile. Taemin gave her a half smile and sat down. Onew had already sat next to Emma scooting her to the middle. Taemin notice the waitress coming over to their booth. "Welcome to Ace's Burgers! My name is Amy. I'll be your waitress for today. Would you like some time to see the menu or would you like to order now?" She asked. "Uhh, guys how about three strawberry shakes, three double cheeseburgers with fries and three cokes", Onew asked. "Whatever!", Taemin said. "Sounds good to me!", said Emma. The waitress replied, "Got it! Your food should be ready in less than 30 minutes. I'll be right out with your shakes and cokes." She put her little note pad and pen on her apron pocket and as she was getting ready to to leave Onew stopped her. "Wait a minute! Is Neon Base still playing today?" "Yeah! They arrived not so long ago. They're still inside their van. They'll be going on at 6pm." She explained to Onew. She then excused herself and left. Taemin's heart was already beating like crazy as soon as she said that Neon Base had arrived. He kept looking outside, trying to catch a glimpse of Jonghyun but he had no luck. His thoughts were again interrupted but by Emma this time. "Are you waiting for someone?" She asked cautiously. "No! But if I was, would that be a problem?" Taemin said while gazing at her with dislike. "Of course not! I was just curious." She was nervous, Taemin's eyes were intimidating her. "Well you know what they say right, curiosity killed the cat." Taemin stopped staring at her and turned to Onew. Onew was giving him a dirty look but Taemin ignored it and smiled. "I'll be right back. I'm going to the restroom." Taemin said as he stood up and walked away. Onew was nervous but excited that Taemin had left him alone with Emma.

Taemin had entered the restroom but noticed it was a little bit crowded. He managed to get the last stall on the right. He quickly got in before anyone could take it. He really didn't need to use the restroom, he just wanted to be alone. He had a enough of Emma but couldn't leave because Onew begged him to come, and he was his ride home. He noticed the restroom getting quieter, which was great because that gave him a chance to close his eyes for a bit and clear his mind, yet that only worked for a minute. He heard familiar voices coming into the restroom.
"Did you see the new girl? I think her name is Emma. What did you think of her Jonghyun?" Minho said as he looked himself in the mirror and fixed his hair. Jonghyun was leaning against the wall just gazing at the ceiling but he manage to hear Minho and said, "I haven't noticed her, so I can't really say." Taemin was nervous. He was trying hard not to make any noises, but he wanted to see Jonghyun since he hadn't seen him since he got suspended. Then Minho continued the conversation, "Jonghyun, not noticing a girl. Hmm! Something's not right." Jonghyun turned his sight to Minho and with a smile said, "Shut up and go tell the others to get ready. We're on in 10 minutes." Minho laughed and left.

Jonghyun stayed behind. This time he was staring at himself in the mirror, thinking about Taemin. He snapped out of it when he heard a girl calling out someone's name outside the restroom. "Taemin! Are you still in there?" She said as she knocked on the restroom door. Taemin was so mad. He prayed for her to shut up and quit calling his name but it was too late. Jonghyun wanted to check if anyone else was in the restroom, so he kept opening each stall until he got to the last one but it was locked. Taemin was so nervous, he didn't want Jonghyun to find him but it was too late. Jonghyun was on the stall next to him staring at him from above. "So we meet again...Taemin!" Jonghyun said laughing. Taemin didn't have the guts to look at him so he unlocked the door and quickly tried to leave the restroom but Jonghyun grabbed his hand before he could leave, pulling Taemin into his arms. They both just stood there staring at each other. The only thing they could hear and feel were each other's heavy breathing. Taemin tried getting out of Jonghyun's embrace but he kept holding him tighter. "Taemin...Taemin!" Emma continued calling. Taemin turned his head to the restroom door and back to Jonghyun's face. "Let me go!" Taemin just kept struggling to get out. Jonghyun with a smirk on his face said, "Fine! Right after this.." and he placed his lips on Taemin's. Taemin just stood there in shock. He wanted to push him away but couldn't. He kissed Jonghyun back, his eyes slowly started to close. He was so into it that he didn't even notice his tongue slowly entering Jonghyun's mouth. Now Jonghyun was the one in shock, his eyes had widened but he smiled, closed his eyes and continued kissing him. He too wanted to use his tongue so he slowly entered Taemin's mouth, both tongues now slowly wrestling each other. As they kept on kissing, Emma began to call Taemin again but he completely ignored her. What was coming next not even he could of imagined it. "TAEMIN! NOOO!" Emma screamed as she stood there inside the men's restroom. Both Jonghyun and Taemin quickly stopped kissing. "What the hell Emma?" Taemin couldn't believe it. He didn't think she was capable of going inside the men's restroom. "I've been calling you for the last 6 minutes and you didn't come out, so I was worried and since you weren't coming out I came in. What's going on here Taemin?" Taemin knew she was weird but this was just too much. "Where's Onew?" "He left! He confessed to me and I told him I wasn't interested. Are you going to tell me what's going on?" Taemin was getting angry and Jonghyun noticed it because he was still holding his hand. "What I do is none of your business. So I suggest you get the hell out..NOW!!!" Emma hated seeing Taemin angry at her, so she listened to him and left. Jonghyun pulled Taemin into his arms but this time he gave him a hug. They hugged for a while until Minho came in. "C'MON JONGHYUN! We're on in 3 minutes." Jonghyun looked at Taemin, he let go of his hand and told him. "I'll see you tomorrow!" And he left. As Taemin walked out of Ace Burgers, he could hear Jonghyun's voice. "Hello Everybody! We're Neon Base and this is Déjà Boo." Taemin smiled and left.
