5. Ties and lies

Luke's POV
I woke up with the early morning dew outside my window " it rained?" I said . I got up and sat down at the edge of my bed and just closed my eyes before ma opened the door to my room " Wow you're awake." Ma said surprisingly.
" You usually wake up at 10 ."
"What time is it ? " I said half asleep. " about 8:30, Ima go make some breakfast " as she goes down the stairs .

I followed ma downstairs and immediately said " hey can you check the mail, I forgot to take it yesterday." With a big grin on her face . I responded with taking the mail keys from the pantry without saying a word .

I opened the front door as the gentle bright sun slid across my body. The rain had just passed , there was still puddles of water on the side walk . I walked over the mailbox and saw the next door neighbor ; Luna .

She is carrying some boxes from her parents car . She turn her head to the sight of me staring and waved . She entered trough the backyard door and was out of sight . I got the mail for ma and went to my room .

My phone rang to a text message . I walked up to it and it was Luna's .
"Hey , Lukey come to my backyard" I looked at myself in the mirror , I looked like decent . I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I put some black skinny jeans a grey shirt and a blue flannel .

I went downstairs " breakfast is on the table " ma said " we're you going ?" She asked " uh Luna invited me to her backyard " as I scrambled to put my vans shoes on ." Hmm Ok " giving me the eye . " I'll be back soon , you know I'm just next door right?" As I was about to open the door.
" yah so don't go anywhere else ."
" alright I won't , bye "
"Bye "

I walked towards Luna's house and noticed the door to her backyard is opened . I welcomed myself and saw her squatting inside a little shed. I went closer to her and tapped her on the shoulder .she fell forwards " Luke , what the hell. You scared me !" I held my hand to her to help her get up .

As she stood up she punched me in the arm . " you really want me to get bruises don't you ?" I said with a smirk. "Whatever... Look what I set up in the shed ." Luna said excitedly . I walked towards the shed and saw what it seems like a small cramped space for a recording studio . " it's a little cramped in here." I said. "Aesthetics" Luna said . We both laugh afterwards .

"I wanna test is out , tell me if you can hear me clear." Luna said frantically getting everything she needed . I looked around at all the open spaces in the shed " I think I'll hear you fine "
"Ok whatever" she said nervously "ready?" I said to her . She nodded as response .

She started to play the guitar in a soothing tune of style; fingerpicking. I was mesmerized by her voice turning a little red on the cheeks.

"They said we are creatures, fight to come alive. Don't listen to watch they teach us ,sold us to the night, our toes sunk on the beaches, under the midnight . Kiss me under the midnight." .

"Sooo what do you think?" She asked me nervously. I stared right into your eyes for moment . I walked towards to the shed where she was sitting and sat next to her. It was a awkward silence for a moment when I broke it with the word "beautiful".

I got up first "hey-" she interrupted me by grabbing my hand and pulling me really close to her face . She looked at me with a gentle smile and kissed me.

She pushed me back hitting my head on the low ceiling of the shed. "Ow!" I opened my eyes  and saw her covering her mouth with her arm .
"I'm sorry" she said quietly.
