" I can't believe it ", I thought to myself. It was the third time this week I've been late to class. What was wrong with me? I always have been on time to class. "I just hope that I won't get a- AGHHH!"Wow, the day was getting so much better, first being late, then tripping over air and being face to face with... THE FLOOR. I spent some time with the floor until I got back to my senses.
"Late again, Mr. Lansbury? Do you know what that means? Two hour detention for you." My mouth dropped open. Wow, two hours, a bit extreme, I thought. Ever since the new principal came, teachers have been a bit more.....unpredictable. Come to think about it, ever since the huge wave of disappearing people around the city, everyone has been a bit tense. It has been all over the news. There are rumors that Mr. Anahi, our old principal, had disappeared, and has been replaced with Mrs. Jen.
"CHRIS!!! PAY ATTE--", the bell rang, leaving the teacher with the words in his mouth. Luckily for me, I hid behind this bulky guy, so I wouldn't have stay after class and listen to the teacher's BLA BLABLA . Before I could even congratulate myself, I crashed into this kid, that was giving out the school newspaper. She smacked me with a newspaper and put it in my hands. An article stuck read:
Approximately 105 people have disappeared for the last two months.
Why are people disappearing all of a sudden? Who is taking all these people? News reporter Nancy Skein has attempted to speak to authorities. Unfortunately, authorities would not respond to her questions.

"What? Police didn't respond? LIES, LIES I TELL YOU!", a few kids looked at me like I was crazy, I didn't mind; I felt weird, as if this affected me. A few of my friends' family members had gone missing, but not mine.

School had gone fast all day, especially because of that newspaper, I had my mind on that one paragraph. I even had a nap about it in lunch. (Yes, I take naps during lunch, don't you?) School ended, and I was walking back home, as usual, a girl from school, Elena, was walking cheerfully home, and waved. When I turned around to tie my shoe, I heard a scream; when I looked back, she was gone. "Umm, are you playing some kind of trick?" I ran to the spot she was standing at. Her bracelet was on the cold concrete. My eyes widened. I snatched it off the ground and ran terrified home.
