***Tyler's POV***

I wake in my room, with it being light outside I decide to check my tablet for the time, 6:54am. I got up and changed into my school uniform. When I was done changing it was 7:10am. I ate a breakfast consisting of; wheat a bix, milk and orange juice. I watched TV until it was 7:45am and left. I wasn't walking with my brother today because he was ill so I went alone. On the way to school I saw a guy running away from another man who seemed to be chasing him. The man chasing him was dressed in tattered clothes and was dragging his feet. I instantly got out my phone and went onto video. The guy running ran into a building and came out with a shotgun. He aimed directly at the pursuer and shot. I looked away and didn't see him die. I stopped the recording and didn't re-watch it because I didn't want to see the guy die. I looked back and the pursuers head was gone. I ran the rest of the way to school not seeing anything else on the way there.
I got to school at 8:15am and ran to my friends. Matthew was talking about "metal gear solid: the phantom pain", he was talking to Aleksander, konna, and Thomas. Liam was talking to kyle whereas Taylor was talking to flo about some random you tube video I had never seen before. It was all normal. Maybe what I saw wasn't real. I then realised I had video'd the entire thing. I whipped out my phone and played the recording. I played it all and watched all of the details. I even watched the guy get shot.
" g.. Guys?" I said shakily. Taylor turned to me whereas no one else hard. Flo had left to talk to her other friends.
"Yeah Tyler?" He asked. I held out my phone to him.
"I recorded this on the way to school..." I told him. He watched it all and looked away at the bit with the shot.
"What do you mean you recorded this on the way to school?" He asked.
"I saw a guy running away from another guy and so I recorded it. The running guy ran into a building and came holding a shotgun. Without hesitation he shot the guy chasing him." I said not lying at all. Matthew turned to face me now interested in my story.
"That sounds like a pretty cool movie, what is it called?" He asked oblivious of what it acctualy was. I showed him the phone and everyone watched it together.
"It's not a movie... It's something I recorded on the way to school." I told them while they watched it.
"Ha, are you having a laugh, this is either a joke or its something that two people set up to make people suspicious." Matthew said laughing. Everyone else laughed except for flo. After everyone was heading in flo approached me.
"Is it true Tyler, did you acctualy see that?" She asked me. I looked at her and thought, she probably won't believe me but sure.
"I did!" I told her sternly. She laughed at my seriousness. She turned and walked in after the others. I walked to my form room in silence. I saw Maksims standing next to the form room door waiting for our form teacher. He was talking to Kiera about a book that he wanted to read. I slowly approached them not wanting to tell them.
"Hey Tyler!" He said approaching me.
"Hey, you all right?" I asked him. We talked to Kiera and Ellis about stuff that we did when we got home. When we had finished registration we went to our first lesson. Me, Maksims and another friend called Paige had Art, Kiera had history so we separated and walked to our classes. We all sat at the back at a 6 seater table. I looked out of the window to see a guy walking in to the school grounds. He was walking very slowly dragging his feet. He had tattered clothes and he was missing an arm. I saw a teacher come out of the school and has towards him. The teacher stopped 1 meter in front of the guy who has now stopped moving.
"Look outside..." I half whispered to Maksims and Paige. They looked and saw the teacher. The guy jumped on the teacher biting into his arm. Blood pressure on the guys face and he jumped off of the teacher. The teacher stood up and began walking to the school with the guy. I looked over to see Paige covering her mouth with both hands and Maksims shaking his head in disapproval.
"Dude, I think this is the apocalypse." Maksims said to me. I nodded not wanting to talk.
"Miss!!! Me, Maksims and Paige have work to do the registration!!!" I called the teacher.
"Fine! Hurry and come back or I'll mark you down for truancy!" She called back. We all hurried out and headed towards the lockers. I opened a random unlocked one and dumped the contents of my bag in it. I kept my phone in my pocket. The others did the same as me.
"We each need to pick one or two friends to take." I said to them taking a post it note off if the wall.
"I chose Konna." I continued writing down Konna's classroom.
"I chose Matthew and Thomas." Maksims says. I write down their classes.
"Ellis and Kiera." Paige says. I write their classes as well.
We start towards Paige's choice, Kiera. We head to humanities. We get to HU-13 where Kiera is. I knock and head in.
"Excuse me miss? Is Kiera in this class?" I look straight at the teacher.
"Yes she is, why?" She asks me.
"She needs to come to the office straight away, it is something about the hospital." I say lying. The teacher allows it and I head out with Kiera. She see's Paige and Maksims and looks at me.
"We're getting out of here," I say to her, "there is a zombie apocalypse happening out side and we need to live." She stares at me but agrees to come wanting to miss her lesson.
"Wait, there is a storage room there." Maksims says pointing to and open door. He runs over to it and comes out holding a single crowbar.
"This is all there is." He says sadly. I take it from him and slip it into my empty bag.
"Kiera, empty your bag into a locker." Paige tells her. She does it and we continue walking. We reach HU-16 and stop. Maksims walks inside and starts talking to the teacher. After a minute he comes out with Aleksander and Konna.
"Let's go!" I say quickly. They start walking looking confused.
"Look out of the window!" Maksims says. We all look and see at least 27 zombies standing in the gate. Aleksander and Konna jump back.
"Tyler you were right..." Aleksander says. Him and Konna empty their bags into lockers and we walk on.
After gathering all of the selected people and a couple more including, Liam, Aleksander and Taylor. Ellis is the only exception, he is off today. we walk to the P.E. area and go to the cupboard. There is no bats because they are currently in use.
"Paige, take a golf club. Aleks, take a small half meter javelin." I order them. They oblige to my commands. I take my crowbar out and give it to Maksims. We head upstairs to the Art area and go to a cupboard. It is locked. I take out my wire ring and un twist it into a straight line.
"Luckily I made a useless ring huh." I joke to my friends. I put the wire into an L shape and stick it in the lock. After 5 minutes or so it unlocked. I open it and see what there is. I grab a nail gun with roughly 5cm sized nails.
"20 nails" I mumble to myself. I shove the nails in my pockets and hold the gun. I shove 5 nails in the gun and cock it.
We head towards the front door.
"We are gonna have to walk past them." I tell my friends. They look at me confused. I pick up a pot of pencils from reception and walk outside. I throw the pot at the wall to the left. All of the zombies start shuffling towards the sound. I signal that we need to move. I start walking slowly. The zombies don't seem to notice me at all. We start walking away from the zombies and towards the front gate. We make it there with ease.
I look out at the world we once knew. There are cars crashed into nearly every lamp post. A zombie is trapped under a car squirming to be free. Another zombie slumps over her and starts biting her neck. She bites him back. There is a zombie slowly walking towards us. I aim my nail gun and... Shoot. The nail flies about a meter before landing in the zombies head. I get a pat on the back from Matthew and a thumbs up from Taylor.
How are we gonna survive this?
