"Snow Shadow, my daughter, you must be very careful. There are so many unforeseen dangers in the future. On the night of your birth, Autumn Watcher received a sign from Moon. Something terrible is going to happen in the future, something that no one will expect. I do not completely know what part in the future you will play, but I know you and your sister both are important. I... I do know that Autumn Watcher knows more than I do, you have to talk to her for more information. I... I think these may be my final words. My daughter, you must complete your mission, as I have mine. You might... ask, why I didn't want to be healed by Autumn Watcher. That's simply because I have completed my mission and to fully complete it, I must leave to go to Moon. Snow Shadow, take care of the pack, and your sister. This is your mission from me. I want you to be alpha."

That was the last thing the great male said, his eyes glazed over and his chest still. Snow Shadow stood up. Deer's final wishes went against all of the traditions of the generations of the pack before him, but perhaps it was for the best. She turned to look at her sister, Stone Ash. Their mother, River Stone, looked at her jealously, she must've known, or figured it out. But why look jealous? Wouldn't she be proud? Snow Shadow padded over to tell her sister the news. "Stone Ash, Deer told me to be leader." Her eyes widened. "He also said that we needed to see Autumn Watcher." Stone Ash nodded and they were about to go talk to the skywatcher when they realized how much damage the attack had caused.

Almost the entire pack was bleeding, and a few were on the ground. They walked over to the wolves that were on the ground, but whom were with Moon. The hunter Clay Stone was one, with a bunch of large gashes on his chest, along with the scout Maple Stone. She was going to go to Moon soon anyways, and she must've fought hard for her pack, like she always did.

The two young wolves saw Autumn Watcher tending to a few injured wolves. Snow Shadow was about to approach her, but was interrupted by Maple Jay's return. The entire pack was happy to see that's he hadn't been killed. The hunter accepted all their thanks, but drew the pack onto a more serious note. She drug a young male wolf into the center of the pack. "Hey y'all. Looky here at what pathetic piece of scrap that was scrapin' around the battle!" She yelled. He looked up weakly. "My name... is Leaf Stone. And I'm not worthless." He growled. Snow Shadow was interested in this loner. Autumn Watcher looked over and rushed up to the male. "Stop." She said simply. "Oh, and what's got you interested?"  The black female, Night Frost, threatened. "He's my son." Autumn Watcher growled in return. Then the entire pack started growling and barking and yelling at each other. Snow Shadow ran up to where Deer would conduct meetings. "Quiet!" She barked, and then all eyes were on her.
