It was a winter night. The Slytherin dormitories were freezing. That's what happens when the room is under a frozen lake. It was cold and damp. Too cold and damp for Draco. The beds of the Slytherin boys forms were too hard and bare compared to Draco's plush bed at home. Plus there was too much on his mind. The Dark Lord had trusted him with a task. Something he knew he would never be able to do. Kill Headmaster Dumbledore. Draco was scared for his life, and not just his, his families lives too. If he failed, then Voldemort would kill the Malfoy family. How he wished he could prove to Voldemort that he, Draco could be a willing Death Eater. To make his parents proud. But deep down, that was not what Draco wanted, he would never be able to kill anyone.

Instead of sitting around, Draco decided it was best he work on the Vanishing Cabinet some more. He stood up, and grabbed his wand.

"Lumos." he whispered, so as not to wake any of the other Slytherin boys. He grabbed a cloak, and crept out of the room. He didn't need an invisibility cloak like ' Precious Potter'. He could sneak around just fine.

The hall outside of the Slytherin common room were cold. It was in the dungeons. Draco's bare feet made little tapping noise as he walked to the steps. His toes were already frozen. He climbed the steps up from the dungeons. Lost in thought he didn't realize that he'd reached the Great Hall. He was so nervous, he did not realize he was walking this way. He was always fond of the Great Hall where he could look up at the ceiling, and see the stars at night. He wouldn't be going into the Great Hall tonight though. He had more oppressing matters to take care of.

He walked up the magical stairs. The glow of his wand reflecting off of the pictures.

"Put that light out, young man!"

"How dare that Prat wake me up."

"So you know what time it is?"

The paintings complained as Draco continued. But they were merely noises he couldn't care to listen to. In fact, all Draco could care to listen to was the beautiful humming coming from up ahead. Wait, humming? Draco thought. He wasn't alone.

Draco quietly crept to the end of the steps. At the corner, he stopped, and listened. Someone was down that hallway. He snuck a peak to the person humming. It was Luna Lovegood. Or better yet. Looney. The girl was crazy, but for some reason, he couldn't look away. Luna was in muggle pjs, and she had her long blond hair in a loose pony tail. Her eyes were closed, and she was dancing gracefully, like a beautiful muggle ballerina. Watching her made Draco's spirit lift, and he didn't know why. Draco wasn't hiding anymore, but he didn't seem to care anymore.

Suddenly, Luna's eyes flew open, and her gray-blue eyes drifted to Draco.

"Oh, Hello Draco. Lovely night, isn't it? She asked casually. She didn't seem the slightest bit embarrassed. It was like this happened every night.

Draco's face became an instant sneer, thought his cheeks were clearly red with embarrassment for being caught starring.

"What are you doing, Looney?" Draco asked, ignoring her question.

"Well isn't it obvious? I'm dancing. Would you like to join me?" she said in her dreamy voice.

"No." Draco was candid.

"It helps you fall asleep if you can't sleep. Dancing ride Nargles. Did you know that?"

"No, I did not because Nargles don't exist!" Draco's hands became fist.

'Meow.' Draco and Luna broke eye contact only to stare at Mrs. Norriss.

"Oh dear, we're in big trouble." Luna said with a smile. Mrs Norriss patterned off to find her master.

"Shut up and run." Draco said as he grabbed Luna's hand, and took off. He couldn't help, but make a little mental note about how Luna's warm, soft hand guy perfectly with his cold hand. He dragged her to where he was meaning to go all night.

He stopped on the seventh floor corridor. He let go of Luna's hand, and walked back and forth in front of the blank wall. He could hear the limping steps of Filch coming closer.

'I need a place to hide.' Draco said over and over in his mind.

"What are you two doing out of bed?" Filch shouted from the end of the hall. Draco grabbed Luna's hand again, and pushed the door open to the Room of Requirement.

He closed the door in Filch's face. From inside the Room he could hear Filch pounding on the wall with his fist. He placed his ear to the wall, and so did Luna. "Get out of there, you horrible children!" Filch shouted. Draco turned to Luna. They both stared at each other. Basking in the moment that they had gotten away. They both laughter at that. It was only then that Draco realized how close he was to Luna. Her breath fanned out over his face. Mixing with his breath.

He couldn't stand the closeness, even though his stomach fluttered. He turned around. If the Dark Lord found out he had taken one of Potter's friends here. Draco would be surely dead.

"Is this the Room of Requirement?" Luna asked fondly as she slipped past Draco.

"Yes, and I wouldn't go wandering too much. You might get lost." Draco said frantically. But he wasn't worried about that, it was Luna finding the Vanishing Cabinet he was worried about.

Luna walked over to a bench, and sat down. "I've been in the Room of Requirement before, but not in this room. The room I was in was for Dumbledore's Army." Luna said.

Draco knew all too well about that room, and that club. "You mean the club Precious Potter created." he scuffed.

"Yes. I made a lot of friends there." Luna seem to see the hatred of Harry, Draco had in his voice. "Why do you hate Harry so much Draco?" Luna asked unexpectedly.

Draco was taken by surprise. Luna had her hand on his arm. It was a gentle touch, and it made his heart beat faster.

"Everyone thinks Potter's so special. He's nothing but a fool to me."

"That's not all of it, is it?" Luna asked. Draco looked down at Luna. Her eyes wrinkled with understanding. He couldn't lie to her.

"I just wish people cared about me as they do about him." he blushed, and looked at his feet. How could he say that.

"People care about you. You just have to look. You block everyone away from you. Just let them in." Luna said in a soothing tone.

"Nobody cares. Not even my father. He expects me to be just like him. I don't want to be a Death Eater." Why was he saying this to her. She was a lunatic. But was she really? She didn't seem to be crazy right now. She seemed like a caring girl. Like a friend. "Now I'm in deep. I have to kill someone, and if I don't, the Dark Lord will kill my family and me." he said it. The words he should have never said. "I don't think I can kill anyone." His voice cracked.

"Sounds like you need a hug." Draco got up before she could hug him.

"Oh Draco, everyone needs a hug once in a while. When was the last time you had a hug?" Apart from Pansy draping herself on him, he never really had a hug.

Luna stood up from the bench. Draco did not move when Luna began to walk over to him. She wrapped her arms around his waist. She was short. Only went up to his chest, where she laid her hair against. Draco was stiff for a few moments. He really didn't know what to do when he was hugged. But then he began to soften up. He wrapped his arms around Luna, and rest his chin on her head. He didn't know he was crying until a tear landed on Luna's head, and she said silently. "It's okay to cry too, Draco." he hugged her tighter as he cried because there was finally someone who cares.
