AN: I have a lot to say, so I'll apologize for the length of this note now. First, this story was requested by @MaryjaneCurry30_ which is why it is dedicated to her. She requested the story five months ago and I totally forgot about it because I was so busy last school year, so my apologies. Also, I was thinking about writing book between I Need You So Much and I Know I Shouldn't. It would probably be more like I Need You So Much in the sense that it would be more focused on Chelsea and Oliver rather than Melody. If you would be interested in reading that or have a suggestion on what the book should include, let me know! Lastly, I sell band related stuff (custom shoes, jewelry, shirts, pillows) on Etsy and it would be awesome if you guys could check that out. It's in the external link. Enjoy the chapter and let me know what you guys think!

Song: Homesick by A Day To Remember

Melody

I sat uncomfortably sandwiched between my dad and Uncle Tom on a plane on its way back home. I had been told I had to sit it the middle because I was the smallest. After an eventful summer on Warped Tour, we were all heading back home. I couldn't wait to be back in my own bed and the rest of my family again. Harmony had gotten into some summer program for high school students at a nearby university, Linkin's girlfriend, who he had been with for a year, had invited him to her family's vacation home in California for a month, and my mum had to stay at home with Harmony to drive her back and forth to the university. All this meant that it had just been Dad and me from our family that summer and missed my annoying twin siblings and my comforting mother. As awesome as Warped Tour in the states was, I was happy to be going home.

Another reason I was excited to be going home was that Tyler would have already moved in a few streets over from where we lived. We had exchanged numbers that day we had met again and had been texting each other nonstop. We had pretty much gotten back together and I was just so happy to have him back. I was totally over how things ended all those years ago and we were starting over. My dad was finally cool with me dating now. I had had one boyfriend in between when Tyler left and now and while he wasn't thrilled, he let me go out without a fight. I was kind of happy now that it hadn't worked out with the other guy because now that Tyler was back I wanted to see what could have been. Tyler also said that no matter he was staying. He would eighteen soon, so even if his mum got transferred, he would soon be legally allowed to live on his own.

The flight seemed to go on forever. I was trying to get my summer reading done, which was not fun at all. I had been taking honors English all throughout high school, which meant that I had to read an extra book, too. Spending summers on tour left little time for reading. Most of the long driving was done over night while we were asleep and during the day I was either lending a hand wherever I was needed or catching other the bands especially on Warped Tour. Unfortunately, the school didn't take into account that people might actual do things over the summer. How dare I have some fun on my time off, right?

Thankfully, I still had three weeks until school started and we didn't have too much planned. My biggest plan was spending time with Tyler. That didn't mean I wanted to read The Grapes of Wrath, though. I was able to get through some of my book, but it was hard because every time I started to actually fully concentrate, a baby would begin crying or my dad would look over my head to talk to Uncle Tom.

After the most agonizingly long hours I had ever experienced, the plan finally landed and we were let off. Waiting at the baggage claim for us was Mum. After dad got his usual hug and kiss and she wrapped me up in her arms. She had called me pretty frequently over the summer to "check in." I had no idea what she would do if Feel My Heart started touring after school was over. We had managed to stay a band after all these years and we had labels looking at us now. Most of the labels were ones Bring Me The Horizon had been on at one point. I guess they were hoping that we were just as promising as they had been back when they were in high school. Despite her hint of overprotection, I was still very glad to see her.

The rest of that day was spent unpacking our luggage and deciding what needed to be washed. After two months, both Dad and I had managed to make quite a bit of laundry. Finally, after the chore was done, I plopped down on my bed and called Tyler.

Chelsea

"So, Melody told me about Tyler," I commented as I folded up one of Oliver's shirts and added it to the small stack in a dresser drawer. My husband just nodded as he threw a pair of ripped jeans in the pile of his clothes that needed to be washed. "And you're ok with them getting back together?" I asked. I knew that he had learned to let her grow up, but all I could remember was how rude he had been to the boy when Melody had first met him.

"Yeah. I'm happy for her. The only reason I hated it so much the first time was because they weren't even in high school yet. I just thought they were too young," he explained. Melody had went out with another boy the previous year and Oli had been fine with it. I was just hoping he could show Tyler more respect this time around.

"Ok. Just as long as you're not going to be a jerk to the kid like you were before," I responded. Tyler was such a nice boy, or at least I remembered him being that way, so the last thing he deserved was Oli's attitude again.

"Well, I mean, I would rather her not date, but she's seventeen. There's no stopping her now and Linkin is dating and he's younger than her, so I can't be too upset," he added. I knew if it were up to him, Melody wouldn't date until she was at least thirty. He was just looking out for her because he cared so much, though.

"They're all growing up so fast," I replied. It seemed like it was yesterday that I was in labor with the twins. What had happened to our little babies? They sure as hell weren't little kids anymore. Linkin had been dating his girlfriend Clarissa for a year now, Harmony had went on two dates, but hadn't had a relationship yet, and Melody had had two boyfriends already.

"I know," he agreed wistfully. No matter how old they got, I knew that he would always think of them as his babies especially Melody. I think their closeness had caused him to become overly protective of her even at seventeen. I swear, he would be this way with her for the rest of his life.

I was just glad that this time, he was willing to push his feelings about the matter aside to let our daughter be happy. I remembered when she had been waiting and waiting for Tyler to call her back and how upset she had been when all of her messages went without reply. I knew she missed him a lot, especially in the beginning. To be honest, I knew she always missed him. He was her first love. Your first love always holds a special place in your heart. I was really happy that she was getting the chance to see what their relationship could have been like if they had stuck together all those years ago.
