"Wake up!"
"Huh?"
I was suddenly being swept away by gushing water through tunnels and at the end of the tunnel, I saw a bright white light. Someone was standing there, Caroline, no someone else but definitely a girl or a woman.Slowly everything came into focus, and my mom's voice greeted me.
"Another one , Julian?" said mom, slowly sipping coffee.
"Yeah."I said groggily
"You need to think about something else, dear! You need to move on. It's almost been a year and we can't keep going to Mrs. Walters everyday. We need some effort on your part too."
" I know. I know." I said, getting out of the couch.
Mrs Walters was a psychologist. She had a clinic down the road where I went for an evaluation every week. Oh, right I didn't tell you about, um about what happened right. Hahaha. Sense the sarcasm.
Exactly 11 months and 23 days ago, Caroline had left me. When I say left me, I mean she left me forever. Or at least that's what the police said. She was there at school that day, laughing, talking and hanging out with me. We had started dating about after 3 weeks after that phone call. In the evening, at around 6 I got a call from her father Joe , asking whether I had seen her. Apparently, she didn't reach home after school. I tried calling her but to no avail. Police investigated the matter, they suspected that she had been kidnapped. They said that she was the third person to go disappearing week. Even after weeks of investigation, no trace was found whatsoever. However, they said that she was most probably still in the state. 4 months after her disappearance, she was presumed dead. I swore that I wouldn't give up looking for her, no matter what. But I was broken.
