I was quietly sitting in my loft above Liam's room listening to music to escape the busy day in Wolverhampton. It was afternoon when the Wolverhampton streets were the busiest. Kids playing in the yard, dogs and cats hissing and barking at each other. The occasional older women walking down the street in workout clothes. The sun was shining brightly through the window bench I was sitting on. I had my pen and paper out I was writing in my song book, I loved to sing and write songs. The only person who believed I could make it somewhere was my brother Liam. He would always say:

"You should really take this singing thing as a serious thing, try out for X factor I know you can do it."

Liam always put a smile on my face, and I thought about it for a while so I might audition. Sometimes I walk past Liam's room, and he sings to the music on his iPod. What he doesn't know is that he has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. I've told him countless times that he's the one who should audition not me. He doesn't believe me, but he believes in me. That day I was singing, and I saw my door open, and it was Liam.

"Hey I heard you singing again, you really need to audition for X Factor, You would be the biggest name in all history!"

I smiled. "Thanks, bro but I think you should. You need to get back up there."

He looked at me and frowned a bit, hesitated but spoke quietly.

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about." I paused my music and put my song book down.

"What?"

"I wanted to tell you, that this Saturday I'm going to audition for X Factor, but I wanted to ask if you would come with me?"

My mouth dropped open. I couldn't believe it, my older brother actually pursuing a singing career. I was in shock, but I was really genuinely happy for him. To be able to get back up on that stage after a few years and being rejected when he was 14 is truly amazing.

As I wrapped my arms around him to hug him, I shouted: "Of Course, I will silly!"

He chuckled while hugging me just as tight back. We separated, and he smiled at me.

"Hey, we should go shopping."

"But you hate shopping."

"I know, but I have to make a good impression on these judges, you see, I gotta look older and more mature."

"You look plenty mature Liam, they'll love you."

"Please? I'll buy you coffee."

"You drive a hard bargain, but alright let me go get shoes on."

He left my room and shut the door I went to my closet and put my boots on. Liam shouted he would be waiting in the car and I grabbed my stuff and ran down the stairs. It was close to being winter, and we already got some snow here. We went over to a local mall that all the kids from my school go to, I, however, don't go to school anymore because I graduated more than a year ago. I still hung out with my friends, though, I missed a lot. We were just talking and walking into different stores. When Liam found a store he liked I'd wait for him outside the dressing room, and a curly brown haired boy happened to walk into the store. He was beautiful but had a baby face. We made awkward lingering eye contact when Liam came out of the room and startled me.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

"You're all right."

"Who were you staring at?"

"What?" I blushed.

"Never mind. I think I'm just going to wear what I have at home."

"Are you sure? That's a nice shirt."
