"Hey Ash, I...I gotta tell you something." Diana calls after me
Diana is my best and only friend at school, she calls me Ash for short,my name is actually Ashley May, but today is the last day of school.
"What is it Diana, you seem sad." I replied
"Well tomorrow....... I'm.... I'm gonna move to California. " Diana hesitated
"Wait what?, really but that's... that's when summer starts, why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"I didn't want to make you sad when school was almost over, sorry Ash." Diana starts to walk away slowly
The rest of the day was sad, what was I too do with out a friend, mom said to make new ones but everyone seemed to never notice me.Diana lived across from me so it was easy for us to hang out. Finally the next morning was here.
"Good bye Diana, send post cards ok." I said holding back tears
"Ok Ash, also please make new friends now that I'm gonna be gone, ok." Diana said trying to brighten me up
I watched as Diana's car drove down the road only to get smaller until out of my sight. I was too weak to wave good bye. A week passed when a new family moved in to Diana's house, they were known as the Robinsons, the family was like mine a father, mother and their daughter. My mother knew Mr. Robinson from work so they decided to have their two families meet at a picnic.
"Why hello dear, how are you today?" Mrs. Robinson asked me
"I'm fine, thank you." I whispered softly
Mrs. Robinson smiled and walked away, so I looked down feeling lonely
"Hi, I'm Emma Robinson, your name is?"
I looked up to see a girl about the same age as me.
"Hi, I'm Ashley May....nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too Ashley" Emma said warmly
