"You don't tell me what I can and can't do!"

Rose dialed the combination and swung open her locker door so that his face was blocked from view. She yanked her school bag out and dropped a couple of texts book in. She swung the bag over her shoulder and closed the locker to find him exactly where she had left him. ... She heaved a very heavy, very audible sigh...

The night was still and dark. The windows of the pickup truck were dark. The lake was still. The night sky above twinkled brilliantly, but the two teens in the back were no longer watching it...
