Am i even alive?

I woke up in a hospital bed 4 days later.  I had no memory of what happened.  They told me that they found me lying with a group of guys after a big fight happened.  They think that they kidnapped me, but lost a fight and were hurt.  Then the police came and found me.  They asked me if i remember anything.  I told them no.

I was able to leave the hospital the next day.  I told them i could walk home.  So they let me.  As i was walking home, i released that i was in the spot that they found me.  I looked around to see if i could remember anything.  I was about to leave when i heard a voice.

"Maria?  Can i come out now?"  Someone said from behind a cart.

"Who's there?"  I asked.

"Maria is that you?  Is the fight over?  You told me stay here until you told me i could come out."  The voice said again.  It was a boys voice.

"Um, sure"  I answered.

"Oh, ok, can u help me.  I haven't moved for like 5 days." He said again

I ran over to help him.  He was about 13 years old.  He had light skin with dark black hair.  I was long for a boy and his cloths were all dirty.  He had a bag of food and water next to him.  "Why didn't you come out?"  i asked

"Because big brother told me listen to you.  And you told me not to come out until you said so."  He said.  I reached down to help him up.  "Wheres big brother?  I heard him yelling your name and than silence.  There was some more fighting than some people ran away and the cops came."

"Im sorry i don't remember what happened, i woke up in the hospital yesterday.  What your name?  Where do you live?  Do you want me to take you home?"  I asked confused.

"Wheres big brothers?"  I boy started to cry. "Did they tell you anything about the people who you with when they found you?  Please he's my only family."  He said crying.

"They said i was with some people who were wanted.  They are now at the police station.  They are going to be moved to the prison tomorrow.  I'm sorry.  I can take you to see them, if you want.  They people who found me said i could go and see if i can remember anything."  I said hoping he would say no.

"Really?  Would you do that for me?"  He said giving me a huge hug.

"Yes, but first you need to change your cloths.  I have some money, we could go to the mall first."  I said looking down at my cloths.  I really need to change them.

"Sure but than we have to go see bug brother.  He's going to be so happy to know that your ok."  He exclaimed grabbing my hand and pulling me down the alley to the nearest mall.

I looked up to the sky and smiled.  The first person to not be surprised by the way i acted or looked.  I was happy even if i didn't get anything he said to me.
