Third Person POV:
"Are you sure you wanna go through with this?"
Sam draws Dean's attention away from the mirror, the concerned look on Sam's face amusing him. Sam should understand this more than anyone, but he probably thinks Dean's lost my mind. Dean's considered the possibility on several occasions, but no, he's still in his right mind.
"Yeah, Sammy. I'm sure," Dean assure him, turning back toward the mirror. This is the same suit he's worn over and over for cases, but it looks different now. It seems to fit better, the sleeves no longer hanging off his arms and the pants finally hitting his ankles. "Will you go check on her? I'm worried she's freaking out."
"Yeah, of course," Sam nods, giving Dean another smile before closing the door behind him. Walking down the hall, Sam gently raps his knuckles against the wooden door before peeking his head inside.
"Sam! You're not supposed to be in here! Shoo, shoo!" Caroline shrieks as she rushes forward, trying to push Sam out the door before he gets a peek at the bride.
"But Car-"
"No! No secret missions from the groom! He's going to have to wait until she walks down the aisle," Caroline fumes, still trying to shove Sam's head back out into the hall.
"Car, it's okay. He can come in." Caroline stops fighting at the sound of her voice, allowing Sam to come fully into the room. Both turn to look at the source of the voice, a smile spreading across their faces when they see her. "So? How do I look?"
Elena stands dressed in white, her sleek dress barely grazing the floor. Caroline had tried to talk her into a ball gown, but even she had to admit this dress suited her. Elena's hair is in curls, something she rarely does, but she thought the occasion was worth the effort. To the pair standing by the door, Elena seems to radiate beauty. Sam's jaw drops open at the sight of his soon-to-be-sister-in-law, the shocked look bringing a blush to Elena's cheeks.
"You look..." Coughing, Sam closes his mouth so he doesn't embarrass himself in front of the two girls. "Elena, you look amazing." Smiling, Elena does a little twirl before walking over to them.
"Thank you, Sam," Elena says, beaming. Caroline smiles at the sight of her, taking note of this moment for her maid of honor speech. Of all the years Caroline's known Elena, she doesn't think she's ever seen her so happy. To be exact, she's never seen her so happy with someone. Dean seems to spark a fire inside of Elena, bringing the light to her eyes and a brighter smile to her lips. Her shoulders are no longer slumped, her head no longer ducked to hide from the world. Elena stands tall when she's with Dean, his presence bringing her the kind of joy that only comes once in a lifetime. Caroline couldn't be happier for her best friend. "Dean isn't freaking out is he?"
"No, no, he's fine," Sam assures her, smirking. It's just like these two to be worrying about the other. "He actually sent me over here to check on you." Elena smiles, but the smile quickly falls from her face when a thought occurs to her.
"Oh no, he's running right now," she stammers, panic beginning to set in. "He got you out of the room and now he's running. Oh my god." Spinning on her heels, Elena begins to pace around the room. Caroline gives Sam a knowing look before stepping forward to calm her friend.
"Elena, honey, everything's fine. Just take a deep breath," she says calmly, speaking as if she's talking to a wild animal. With Elena you never know. In usual situations she's very calm, the kind of person you want around to keep you sane. But when she gets something in her head, Elena can be very stubborn about it, a trait Dean admires. This causes problems in situations like this, sending her into a mild panic attack that only Dean can talk her down from. But Caroline is going to do her best so Dean doesn't get dragged into it-ultimately ruining the tradition of the groom not seeing the bride on their wedding day. Caroline is one for tradition and she isn't going to let a silly panic attack ruin it. "Elena, listen to me. Dean isn't going anywhere. He loves you and he wants to marry you."
