Scary Mary

Chapter 1:

"Come on Jessica! Dont be a chicken!" Said John

I have been dared to go into the scary house at the end of the street, a house that has been abandoned ever since I was 4 years old. That day I saw a family run out of the house screaming and shaking when they jumped in the car.

"John, shut up! You have no idea how scary that house is!" Said my best friend, Casey.

I opened the curtains and looked at the house. The white paint on the outside is chipping off revealing a dirt brown color. The shingles on the roof are tearing off and moss is growing on the sides. Also, the windows are blocked off with wood.

"She shouldnt be so scared, when she was little, she rode on the fastest rollerciaster at the amusement park." Said Luke, my older brother and John's best friend.

"Well,duh, but im pretty sure that thing in the house doesnt go 80 miles an hour straight down." I say.

"Just do it!" John yells.

After about a minute of thinking I decide to go.

I walk out of my house with the rest of the group behind me. The walk only takes a minute, but it seems like forever. I walk in front of the house and just stare at the front door, shaking all over.

"Come on! Lets go!" Luke and John yell in unison.

"Shut up! Take your time, Jessica!" Casey exclaims.

All I can do is stand there, frozen. I am pushed from behind and see that John pushed me forward. I walk slowly to the door. I put my trembling hand toward the doorknob. I finally touch it and it is freezing cold. I open the door, the room is black with a little light from the moon in the night sky.

I turn to close the door but it slams behind me. I turn around and here a strange sound, I walk forward. Suddenly, I see it.
