Chapter 3

Jennifer's P.O.V.

I was being interrogated by a detective without my lawyer since I volunteered.

Ms. Jennifer, what were you doing in Ryder's house?

I was at his house because I needed to talk with my best friend since I felt so alone in my house. I know he is a gang leader but I don't care since he is my best friend since we were little kids.

Did you know he was going to deliver drugs to the man you killed?

As a matter of fact I did.

Why didn't you report it to us?

I don't like to snitch and I knew that if ever did report it, the man I shot by self defense, would come after me.

You said you shot him by self defense?

Yes I did.

How was it self defense?

He came in looking for Ryder while we were upstairs talking about my father's dead. All of a sudden we heard gun shots being fired. We figured out we would check it out. He gave me a gun just in case I needed it to defend myself. I took it thinking it would make me safer. We were eavesdropping when all of a sudden one of Ryder's gang members was shot and we thought it was Mr. Joe getting shot. We hurried and when we saw it was Henry, we were devastated. Mr. Joe then got into a heated fight with Ryder and Mr. Joe was trying to get me to come with him that he disrespected me and touched me. I told him I wasn't a hoe and the only thing he would take home was him. He was so mad that he choked me.

I show them my neck where his hands were marked and continued on with my story.

I tried to get his hands off me but they kept getting tighter. Then I did the unthinkable and shot him twice since the first shot didn't do anything to him.

I was crying.

Ms. Jennifer, you are free to go.

Thank you officer!

I decided to go to my house and sleep.
