Chapter 3

~ Lucy's POV ~

I let out a heavy sigh as I sat down by the guild bar. A week had passed since I joined Fairy tail and I realized that I actually had rents to pay for while I had been waiting for Natsu and rest to return from the quest.

A voice spoke up from behind the bar.
- What are you sighing for Lucy.?
It was Mirajane.
- I'm low on money and have a bill to pay..! I exclaimed.
- Oh, why not take a quest then..? You haven't done one since you joined you know.
-Well, you see, I have no partner to quest with so-
- You're waiting for Natsu to return so you can join him huh..? Oh my, oh my. Miras face shone up brightly as she cut off what I was about to say.
- Wh-wha...No I'm not waiting for Natsu, why would I wait for someone I barely know, that's absurd. I blurted it all out in embarassment and I wasn't convincing her.
- Oh now, now. No need to be shy, I know who to ship as fast as I see them and I may as well tell you that my matches are 117% accurate so you can't escape.
Oh no, she's starting with this again. Please no...
- Just look at those two, you agree with me that they look cute together, right..? She points quickly at Gajeel and Levy as she says that. I ship them and they are together which means that I'm accurate.
I could hear two voices loudly shouting "We are not together...!" in our direction as she said that.
- I give up...

~ A few hours later ~

I'm still sitting at the bar listening to Mira ramble about everything between OTP and babies when...

- I'm back...!
- Oh welcome back Natsu. Mirajane directed at the voice.
- We're back was heard by a few other voices afterwards as well.
- Welcome back everyone how did the job go..?
- Well flame-brain over here burned down the object we were supposed to collect, so not good.
- Hey, I wouldn't have burned it if you didn't freeze it from the beginning..!
- I froze it in order to stop your god-damn fire...!
Their fighting went on and on...
- So did you get your reward in the end..? Mira asked.
- Ah no, I'm sorry, we didn't, we just got more bills for the guild to pay. I apologize for that.
- You couldn't help it Wendy. Carla said. It's these two who are at fault really.
- Are you going to take another quest right away..? Mira asked them.
- No, got things to do and cakes to eat.
- Nah, I'm way too tired of flame-idiot to do another quest with him.
- Ah no, I'm pretty tired myself. Good bye everyone.
- If Wendy is leaving then I'm leaving.

- Well that leaves just me and you Happy, we need food-money, so I guess we've got no choice.
- Aye!
At that moment I saw something in Mirajane's eyes.
- Well you two should probably take another member with you just in case...!
As Mira said that she pushed me forwards. Lucy didn't you complain about having no money. You also need an excperienced partner since you're new so why don't you join them...? She smirked.
- Oh, you're joining us then..? I'm okay with that- what was your name again- ah Luce...!
- Lucy...!
- Details, oh well come now Luce, gotta pick a job. Natsu said as he grabbed my arm and started walking towards the quest board.

I could already feel pain from the curse, but it didn't matter at that time for me. As long as I was with him I could endure any pain.
