Kitten Toys!

I heard my alarm go off and moaned, wanting to stay in my dream land where nothing bad's happening. I forced myself up and put on a t-shirt and some jeans. "Wake up!" I yelled at my brother's room as I jogged down the stairs.

After putting some eggs in a pot to boil, I sat down at the kitchen table with my phone and began checking all my social media accounts, like I do every morning. It said I have 15 new emails, but they're usually just spam, Google + telling me about new posts, my horoscope, Buzzfeed telling me about cute animals, Cracked giving me new articles. Nothing I cared to read.

Then I noticed an email from (insert Venturian's email here). I read it, then hastily typed a reply, and screamed at my brother excitedly, "Pumpkin's coming home!" I put on some music and began to (horribly) dance, and my brother joined in. The guy said he'd bring Pumpkin in about an hour.

"Hey, you want to walk to Wal-Mart to get Pumpkin a welcome home present?"

"That sounds nice!" my brother replied, no longer feeling guilty, now that Pumpkin's been found.

We got there and went to the pet department. They had so many different toys, treats, and scratching posts! "How about this cat tree? It's so soft and tall!" my brother said energetically.

"Eh, I'm not sure I can carry that home." I said, amused. "But how about this?" I said pointing towards a cute, but small cat tree.

"Yeah! He'll love it!" my brother shouted, as he asked "Can we get him a toy, too? And some treats?"

"Okay, fine!" I said, the thought of Pumpkin's face when he sees the toys causing me to cave in.

We checked out, and I winced slightly at the price, it cost me all my leftover birthday money, and a big chunk of my allowance. Oh, well, Pumpkin's happiness is worth it to me.

We just had time to set up the cat tree, before we heard a knock at the door.
