Chapter 4- Swimming

Jade P.O.V

I felt Perrie slip from underneath me and I saw her run across the beach over too the water, pulling a face at me with a sense of achievement.
"Don't think you've won yet Edwards!" I shouted over to her, picking myself up from the ground and chasing after her.

After around five minutes of chasing her on the shore I slowed down, putting my hands on my knees.
"Okay, okay..." I say, panting with exaggeration "you win, you win..."
"What's this? Jade Thirlwall beaten, I thought I would never see the day" she started, stepping closer to me with a smirk on her face.
"Don't get cocky Pezz, Il beat you next time..."
Once my breathing had returned back to normal I looked out over the sea. The clouds had drifted away and the sun was shining back in the sky, but the breeze was still cold.
"Wanna go for a swim?" I hear a voice say. I look over at Perrie in shock.
"A swim? You've gotta be kidding me Pezz, it's gonna be freezing!"
"So? You'll soon warm up" she laughed, taking off her hoodie and throwing it too the floor. I looked around the beach. It was completely empty.
"Fine, but if I catch a cold, it's your fault" I warned and she giggled and nodded in agreement.
As I pulled my shirt from over my head I saw Perrie standing at the edge of the water in her underwear, staring out at the ocean. I felt myself blush but shook off the weird feeling that overcame me.
"Alright then" I said, joining her by the waters edge "ladies first..."
"Exactly"
Before I know what was happening, I felt my legs lift from off the ground and I felt myself being thrown over Perries shoulder.
"Put me down! Perrie! " I yelled, knowing what her next move was.
"Sorry but didn't you say ladies first?" She replied cheekily with a grin on her face.
"Perrie I swear to god, if you don't put me down..."
"You want me to put you down? Well your wish is my command"
"Wait, no, Per-" my sentence was cut off when my whole body was submerged in freezing salt water.
I pushed my feet off the sea bed and gasped up to the surface for air, wiping my hair back and out of my face.
"You bitch!" I yell with a laugh, splashing her with water.
"You asked for it!" She replied, splashing me back.
I raise my eyebrow at her and we stare at each other for a few seconds.
" Race you " she smirked and dived off into the water with a splash.
"Wait wha-" I begin but see that she is already swimming deeper out "oh for god sakes". I begin to swim after her, catching up within a few seconds. We carry on swimming for a few moments before she slows down to a halt.
"I win!" She yelps happily, turning around to face me whilst treading water.
" you got a head start, you cheated!" I accused as I watched her push loose hair back into her bun. A smiled spread across her face.
"Yeah well, you're a better swimmer than I am so how else was I gonna win" she laughed, swimming up closer to me.
"Valid point" I smiled. I looked over my shoulder, we were a decent distance from shore but not too far to swim back easily. I looked back over at Perrie and she was panting. I saw her face bob slightly underwater but she soon came back up for air.
"What's up? Are you okay?" I ask, grabbing onto her shoulder.
"Yeah, I'm just tired" she smiled whilst breathing heavily " treading water for so long is tiring, I can't touch the ground"
"I don't understand you sometimes Edwards" I laugh, pulling myself closer to her and grabbing onto her waist " it's okay, il help you get back"
"Thanks Baba" she smiled gratefully as I gently start swimming back to shore with her in grasp.

Perrie P.O.V

When Jade put her hands around my waist I felt a shiver run through me. Must just be the cold water taking effect of my body. Jade carried me back pretty much the whole way back to shore, with Sky and Hatchi waiting for our return. As I walked up out of the water I shivered once more in the breeze.
"Maybe that wasn't such a good idea" I confess " we don't even have towels"
"I told you so" Jade replied with a look of triumph on her face "common, let's get back home to shower all this salt water off"

Once we got back into our clothes, we put the dogs back on the leads and began our walk home.
"Here, put this on" she said, handing me her jumper she brought with her "you're freezing"
"Thanks Baba" I replied, taking the jumped gratefully. It fit me perfectly because me and Jade were basically the same size, even though she's a little smaller. The jumper kept me warm on the walk home and it smelt strongly of Jade which I also liked. She always smelt like Gold Magic now, all of her clothes smelt of it because she poured it on so much.
"Talk about dedication to the product" I smiled, bringing the jumper sleeve up the my nose.
"What d'ya mean?" She looks at me confused
"The perfume, you always smell of it" I explained, smiling behind the sleeve.
"Oh my bad" she laughed nervously " I guess I get a bit carried away"
"No, don't apologise, I like it" I reassured her.

Jade opened the front door and the dogs followed gladly behind her.
"Jesus Christ, you guys are soaked! What happened?" Spoke the voice on a concerned Jesy who was leaving the kitchen.
"This smart ass decided that we should go swimming in the sea" exposed Jade, smirking at me "which obviously didn't go as planned"
"I didn't think we would swim out so far..." I say with my head down. I felt a hand place on my shoulder.
"Don't worry about it, now go take a shower, il get in after you"
I look up to see a smiling Jade. I love Jade. No matter how emotional or silly I act, she is always there for me.
"Okay, will do" I smiled, taking off her jumper and handing it back to her "thanks for that"

Jade P.O.V

As Perrie disappeared up the stairs Jesy spoke up.
"I can't believe you let her talk you into going swimming"
"It's not my fault! I couldn't let her go in alone, I practically had to carry her back to shore because she was so tired from it all" I explained, trying to sounds responsible, but really I did enjoy going swimming, even if it was immature and childish.
"I'm gonna go put all of these wet clothes in the washing machine" I say as I start to walk into the kitchen.
"Oh by the way" Jesy stops me " we need to leave here at 5:00pm, management have booked us a whole new promo tour for Love Me Like You"
"Alright, il tell Perrie when I get up there" I smile " I can't wait"
