Like Kenny said, Mama willingly agreed to watch Prince while I was gone. She called me the next day sounding so excited.

Time passed and I tried to mentally prepare myself for being away from Prince. Since I'd given birth to him I always kept him near me.

Kenny prepared everything for me, the flight and the hotel I'd be staying at along with a rental car. He seemed more excited than me.

On the morning when I was leaving for Detroit I stood in front of Mama holding a sleeping Prince to my chest and struggling not to cry.

"Oh it'll be alright. I will Skype you every morning and night so you can see him while you're gone" Mama smiled, chuckling at how I was acting.

Mama was a short, plump woman with her hair cut in a cute bob and pretty hazel eyes. There was this gentle, calming feeling about her that I loved but she could also be sassy. I saw her as a mother figure in my life because she was always so patient, kind, and caring.

She and Kenny hadn't had any kids so they both kind of took me and Katara in as their daughters, and Darius and Tylin as their sons. We were all like one family and I loved that.

"I know, it's just...hard" I sighed.

"J, hurry up and let her take Prince. The boy will be fine" Darius said, coming up from behind me.

Darius was a few inches taller than me and really buff. He was 28 and he worked as a personal gym trainer. He had light skin that told of his mixed heritage (Ethiopian and Indian). To me, he was like a big brother, always protective and near if I needed help.

"Don't rush me" I pouted, kissing Prince's forehead.

"You're so dramatic" Tylin said, appearing from my kitchen (as usual). He was such a fatass. He didn't even help with any of my bags, instead he immediately rushed to my kitchen.

Tylin was tall too, with caramel brown skin and pretty light brown/gold eyes. He was 26, really good looking and he knew it too. The man was such a flirt with a different girl every week. Player ways aside, he was goofy and could be annoying sometimes but he was a good guy with a big heart.

"Am not. And why are you eating my sons baby food?" I retorted. He shrugged, continuing to eat.

"Baby food is the shit" he said, mouth full.

"Hey. Watch your mouth young man" Mama scolded him, eyes narrowed. He winked at her cheekily.

"Sorry Mama" he apologized. She shook her at him.

"We ready to go?" Kenny asked, walking inside the house with Katara behind him.

"Yes, J is just stalling at this point" Tylin answered. I glared at him and he shrugged.

"Excuse you, but this is the first time I've been away from Prince for longer than a few hours. When you have kids you'll understand" I rolled my eyes, cradling Prince closer to me when he yawned slightly.

"You sound like a mother" Tylin said. Katara ran over and slapped him upside the head, making him wince and glare at her.

"That's because she is, dumbass" Katara snapped.

That started a little bickering between the two of them while the rest of us looked on. Katara and Tylin were always arguing with each other but it was all in good fun.

"Children, children. It's 6 am" Mama sighed, hands on her hips.

"Yes, so let's go" Kenny clapped his hands together. I sighed and reluctantly handed Prince over to Mama.
